Tuesday, April 19, 2011 3:14:48 PM My city has some of the best tap water in the country and I drink it straight out of the tap. Even if it wasn't, I would still avoid bottled water. I'd invest in a water cooler. At least the bottles get reused. |

Tuesday, April 19, 2011 12:10:49 AM yup. thats about the state of it. i am so lucky, the water i drink, falls out of the sky, and is stored in a tank, then i get it out of the tap. And, the sky that it falls from is clear and blue and non polluted. And, if i want to take some water somewhere, i get it out of the tap, and fill a bottle and take it with me. I am so blessed... |

Monday, April 18, 2011 10:12:24 PM @premierwondr, With all due respect I would like to know your theory on how to produce biodegradable items that are supposed to be used in unison with water before they are meant to biodegrade. Now I don't know everything about the technology but from what I do no, isn't water used as a main solvent in biodegradable items which means it would deteriorate at a faster rate. And guessing how hard it would be to make, it would in fact use more oil and energy to produce a greater quantity of the biodegradable items as a result of their more rapid deterioration. |

Monday, April 18, 2011 9:42:07 PM @Sarah Not if we could make everything cleaner. Fully biodegradable bottles would be a good step forward. Fully biodegradable soap for washing reusable glasses would be a plus too. |

Monday, April 18, 2011 6:52:18 PM So when you use a reusable vessel like a glass just how much energy goes into making that glass and cleaning it regularly? How much polluted runoff water comes from washing reusable glasses? You can't win, EVERYTHING you ever do destroys the environment. |

Monday, April 18, 2011 3:51:09 PM I remember when bottled water first hit the market. Everyone was like, "WHO THE HELL WOULD BUY SOMETHING YOU CAN GET FOR FREE FROM THE TAP" Clever marketing and 100 billion bottles later, makes me wish I invested my money when I had the chance. |
