What it would penetrate would depend on the pressure of the tip of the bolt on impact.
The exit speed of the bolt would depend on draw strength (which we know), draw length (which we don't know) and bolt mass (which we don't know).
So we can't know the speed of the bolt.
The exit kinetic energy of the bolt would depend on its speed (which we can't know, see above) and its mass. KE = 0.5mv^2.
So we can't know the exit kinetic energy of the bolt.
The pressure of the bolt on impact would depend on the exit kinetic energy (which we can't know, see above), the distance to the target (which can be chosen as anything within range) and the size of the tip of the bolt (which we don't know).
So good luck to anyone who wants to try to calculate that. |
