I remember phones! They were attached to the wall and you could only go as far as the cord would allow you, like a leash! And you had to spin the dial to make it work, no speed dialing. Big cities required 7 numbers but in my home town we only dialed 4 numbers. I don't see how cell phones have improved anything. The best part of my car was you could get way from the phone. |

Monday, April 11, 2011 9:23:07 AM So my friend tells me I'm asocial (which I am) and drags me out to a bar with some of his other friends that I don't really know. The whole time we are there, there is almost no dialogue within the group as everyone else is texting. I can't help but laugh at the irony of getting together and going out into public just to ignore each other in favor of texting. Everyone gives me a weird look when I try to explain what is so funny. I need new friends. |

Monday, April 11, 2011 6:11:36 AM I hate it when I'm sitting with a person actually having a conversation and they're texting. It wouldn't be appropriate for them to have a phone conversation, why would it be appropriate to have a texting conversation? So rude. |

Sunday, April 10, 2011 8:22:41 PM So Bremir, you really think it's OKAY to have a casual conversation on the phone with some one whose not with you and expect the people who chose to see you in person to sit there and wait for you to finish? You value people who call you on the phone more than those who are with you in person? Enjoy having phone friends who never want to see you in real life. |

Sunday, April 10, 2011 8:22:33 PM I don;t mind texting, in the right context. My coworkers and I text back and forth a lot at work since our store is 117000 sq/ft and has a lot of people/machinery in it which can be quite loud at times. It is also unobtrusive if the target of your text is busy with a customer, as opposed to a phone which they either answer immediately or ignore. There are other good uses for texting as well, but I'm not writing a damned essay here. All of that being said, i hate people that text while they are talking to you or text entire huge conversations. Grrrr. |

Sunday, April 10, 2011 8:01:48 PM shappy - It's hardly any different than you being in a cafe and hearing the awful conversation two people are having at the next table. I'd prefer not to hear them, but I have to so I live with it and get on with my life. In other words - I really couldn't care less if people do or don't want to hear me on my phone. If I need to make an important call, or someone calls me while I am out I'm not going to ignore it based on "nobody wants to hear you on your phone!". If that's the excuse people use on this subject, you need to get over it and get on with your life. |

Sunday, April 10, 2011 5:41:00 PM That was great, up until the end, when they destroyed the entire purpose of it being satire. seriously - they really had it going well there, and then it died. Also, the punching and the shooting kind of also really ruin the effect - though the slapping was a nice touch =) |

Sunday, April 10, 2011 4:42:37 PM Texting just allows idiots to bother you with their stupid bullpoo. Every time I see someone being a slave to their phone and pulling it out to text irrelevancies every 30 seconds I just want to knock it out of their hands. |

Sunday, April 10, 2011 3:33:00 PM I'm one of those people where I find a lot of the small things to be funny and I'll send my friends texts depending on what's going on. If I'm making a phonecall I'm either calling my parents, I'm taking directions, or I really need to catch up with someone. Otherwise I'm a texter. |

Sunday, April 10, 2011 3:11:02 PM Funny video, I'm on the side that thinks the "stupid f*cking idiot" part ruins it though. Satire is only satire if you don't point it out yourself. I'm just kidding, that previous sentence was a joke! PS: texting is better, but not in the case of kids now-a-days where they sit and text the same person back and forth. Texting is good when you need to get a short message to someone and they are, say, at work and can't answer their phone. And don't say that voicemail is better in this case... voicemail is horrible. |
