DJ DOubleb- if it was "rabid" then what good was it to pepper spray it if it was going to be fine in the next few minutes. I dont know why this cop had to do this cus one its not his job, and two if the squirrel was rabid then they should have done more.. so i dont think it was. Squirrels sometimes will get that close especially when they think you have food. |

Doesn't matter whether squirrels are common rabies carriers or not (and I can't tell if it was a squirrel or chipmunk or other small rodent). If it was behaving abnormally it is a threat to the people there. Pepper spray is a perfectly acceptable deterrent to use and has no lasting long-term affects. If the squirrel was not sick - then perhaps this will teach it to avoid humans and human habitation - also prolonging its life. |
