It IS a fact that Coca-Cola uses coca-leafs. Should we care? Does it matter? Is it worty of any 10 fact list? NOOOOO. It is just a drating leaf with slight caffeine like qualities should you munch a bunch of them. I have had coca-tea in Peru

I only read to the top of the picture. The horrible sentence structure, improper punctuation and poor word choice was enough to inform me that I just wouldn't give a crap about anything the author had to say.

I can understand being a sloppy wordsmith while replying quickly on a forum or something along those lines, but not when writing an article or blog.

horribly written article that tried very hard to force its critisms rather than make strong arguements.

@McGovern1981

that doesn't generally apply to supermarkets/grocery stores.

vv Pretty much all resturants and big chains make an agreement to only carry coke or pepsi products and can't sell the competetors. This is about every resturant I've seen I'd say supermarkets do it too but I have seen some carry both.

heres the thing.....I live in a small town in the country. We have a local small supermarket, it sells coke and pepsi. the coke is outrageously priced. 600ml bottle of coke = $3.58 nz. They also sell pepsi. 600 ml = $2.20. go figure, i buy the pepsi, even though i prefer the coke, econmic times being what they are etc....(i'm on a diet, girls will understand this, diet drinks are the only thing i am allowed to enjoy anymore-and yes, i am aware that the artificial sweeter is giving me brain cancer)
So, as a matter of interest yesterday, when i went on my weekly shopping trip to the big supermarket in the city, 60 odd km from where i live, i decide to see how much pepsi is there, i might stock up, save money....
The big supermarket, and this is a huge chain supermarket, one of nz's big 2 chain stores, and guess what? they dont sell pepsi. nothing, nada, nowhere to be found. Cant tell me that coke has had nothing to do with that. Definately something fishy going on with coke.

That's so weird - I just got a Coke instead of a Diet Coke by accident (pressed the wrong button) and I haven't had a regular one in forever and it tasted like ASS water. Not that I know what ass water tastes like, but if you had to drink water that came out of an ass, I bet it would taste like regular Coke. There's my Coke fact.

This article is silly.
It's not conspiracy theory that coke still uses coca leaves. Cocaine wasn't completely taken out in 1908, it was completely taken out in 1925. In 1908 it was only reduced to a trivial amount. The coca leaves that are used now contain no traces of cocaine. In the article, he says they claim the coke recipe hasn't been changed for 100+ years. As of this post, the claim is 125 years. Coke says their recipe is left unchanged since 1886, which is... Kind of true, but more of a fib. They use mostly the same ingredients, but in 1980 They switched from beat to cane sugar, so if you want to believe the recipe is actually unchanged, be my guest.

Source: Type "coca-cola cocaine" in to Google and read the first ten links.

I wonder how many companies with as long a history as Coke have a clean history?

John Pemberton fought in and was wounded during the Civil War. Many wounded veterans developed an addiction to morphine. Booze and opiates were the painkillers available.

Sources disagree with the estimates of cocaine present in each 8 oz. serving. They vary from 9 mg to 60 mg. No one's sure. Either way, cocaine was used profusely in thousands of ways, many in higher doses. My favorite? Dr. Tucker's Asthma Specific. An asthma remedy with 420 mg cocaine per ounce, it was applied directly to the nasal mucosa.

10 half-truths is more like it. Was this article originally paid for by PepsiCo, Incorporated?

totally legal and widely used at the time.

Well we'll have to boycott them!
