Thursday, March 31, 2011 1:46:24 AM @insanmonster Perhaps the doctor knows there is a safety risk with using acetone, especially on the head (where it might get into the eyes). Or even if there isn't a safety risk, if this "treatment" hasn't been medically tested, then I can't see how the doctor can justafiably recommend it without the full facts of the potential consequences. Yes, anecdotally, you all know that acetone will remove it...but do you REALLY want your doctors prescribing treatments to you based on anecdotes? The doctor here knew that the safest thing to do was leave it to come off in time. Safety > a few days of embarrassment. |

Thursday, March 31, 2011 12:46:49 AM it has been bothering my quite a bit why that doctor didn't tell him right away to go home and rub nail polish remover on it (you know those guys had some) and then it hit me, that Doctor probably knew that acetone takes off super glue. He was just having a little fun with stupid people. If I was as quick thinking as this Doctor I would do the same. |

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 7:40:00 PM I wish I could go to the doctor to get a super glued hat off of my head and not have to pay for it. I wonder how much this would cost someone in America. |

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 12:18:27 PM Oh just to point out to those confused, in the UK "Fancy Dress" is another term for Costume, so a Fancy Dress Party is a Costume Party. |

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 7:49:16 AM dumb question, wtf is A&E? Accident and Emergency. The ER basically. I guess they don't require British medical students to take chemistry They usually do, but then they spend 5 years learning exclusively medicine at university before they even become a junior doctor, so it's probably understandable that they may have forgotten some of the aspects of school work that aren't essential to their vocation. Maths is usually a requirement for medicine too, but I wouldn't criticise my doctor for not remembering the integral of cos(x) because he's been busy learning medical stuff for 5 years. |

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 2:53:55 AM Have to say the hat rather suited him. I would have waited a while beffore going to A&E as it would have come off pretty fast on its own!
