Sunday, March 27, 2011 1:15:41 PM Tsk tsk, just the sort of attitude that runs through the country and team. I watched the Ireland game, they outplayed the English comprehensively and were, without argument, the better team. You miss the point; The England team would have to agree to that advert being made prior to their winning. It features that embarrassing Ashton 'swan dive' - which his coach ordered him to stop and he ignored. If I was Johnson I would have benched him for the game following any one he pulled that stupid stunt in. You are taught at mini-rugby level not to celebrate before you score- and the one time he drops it and England lose by less than seven points he's going to look like the prize douche he is. That's a prime example of why your country aren't liked as 'sportspeople' |

Sunday, March 27, 2011 8:03:55 AM I'd be interested to see those stats when adjusted for population size - that's even before you take into account the respective amounts of funding each nation gets. And for the record, I'm not Irish - just making a point. |

Sunday, March 27, 2011 7:45:31 AM Yes Paddy, and that's why Ireland has never won the Rugby world cup, and that's also why, after Italy (the youngest Six nations team), Ireland has the fewest wins, and England the most? |

Sunday, March 27, 2011 7:03:26 AM I'd love to know what made them think they'd win in the first place, we beat them almost every year (7 of the last 8), we even beat them at cricket these days and we don't even play that fecking sport! Seriously, I'm starting to think England just invent sports for Ireland to beat them at. |

Sunday, March 27, 2011 5:39:49 AM Ha, Sensing a lot of bitter England fans on this thread! Guys, it's arrogant to make a commercial like this before you've won, I doubt very much if any of the other teams in the six nations would have agreed to film it in the same position, though guess it just comes down to national mentality. I agree with the points made that it is a terrible waste to produce all the Superbowl / Championship game merchandise beforehand as well. Would like to think that the useless stuff goes to some clothing charity or something. |

Saturday, March 26, 2011 5:07:00 PM Franchises make craploads of merchandise for the Super Bowl playing teams, regardless of who wins, just to have it ready the minute the winner is decided. Moving on. |

Saturday, March 26, 2011 4:37:38 PM So Nike made an advert that could air as soon as the match was over if England had one. England didn't win, but at the same time won the whole tournament. You failed England? You failed I-A-B. |

Saturday, March 26, 2011 12:21:15 PM Aye, not England but nike pre empting advertising. Which is quite common so they can get their adverts out for as soon as the event does (or does not in this case) take place. |

Saturday, March 26, 2011 12:05:53 PM Meh, this thing happens all the time. Just like newspapers have obituaries ready for most major celebrities and political figures - just in case - which has at times led to announcing the death of people by mistake. |

Saturday, March 26, 2011 11:23:23 AM Correct me if I'm wrong but I would assume this is kinda like how both teams have "Superbowl Champion" merchandise made before the game so they can put it on right as time hits 0:00 to try to sell stuff. Maybe they just made this commercial with the intent of airing it as soon after the championship as possible. Perhaps all the teams made one, just this one is the only one that got leaked. |

Saturday, March 26, 2011 10:08:01 AM Ruswut: The rugby grand slam is when a team beats all other teams in a single Six Nations Championship. It's a real thing. Correction fail much? |

Saturday, March 26, 2011 9:42:27 AM Yeah, well they made this in case they did win the Grand Slam. They didn't, sooo it doesn't matter. Kind of embarrasing but not to any real degree. |

Saturday, March 26, 2011 9:39:42 AM Not England, the advertisers and their mock up. Also they won the competition, but not every match to get the bonus title of grand slam. |
