Pretty amazing the waves traveled clear accross the ocean and still had enough force to cause damage even though it was Minor damage its still damage |

my dad went through the 1964 flood here in crescent city, and it was WAAY worse than this, he couldnt drive up the streets...and it wiped out part of the sea side of town |

Of course it's nowhere near as bad as Japan, but it did do some major damage to the ports of towns in southern Oregon/northern California that depend on the fishing industry for income. So don't write it off as nothing. |

I take it you've never seen the ocean before? Yeaah, this stuff sorta... happens. What I found the most funny was the news and the videos they had playing of the beach in Oregon. "WOW LOOK AT THAT WATER AND ITS SLOSHING AGAINST THE SHORELINE! OMIGOSH!"
Funny thing about that particular stretch of shoreline was that it wasn't even up as high as it can, it's been all the way up to the road before and that's at high tide, not during a frightening event. This was interesting it rose pretty quick, but not even as high as high tide usually is. |
