You're right - blood vessel dilation/constriction is muscular. I was missing that entirely and thinking of skeletal muscles.
But there's still the deal-breaking issue of not having any blood moving.
If you're just going to pump some other fluid in there, it's not really the same thing. Increase the pressure a bit and it'll stretch a bit more. I suppose you could use some sort of pressure sensor and a standard pressure for comparison purposes.
Is it actually done, though? |

angilion, there are muscles in the penis. those muscles that dilate/contract blood vessels letting blood in or out of penis. its these muscles that help fill the penis with blood that can be used to fill the penis with some other liquid with blood properties. but, i dont know, these are all just suggestions for what they may do. |

But in a corpse there isn't blood flowing so no amount of artificially induced contraction of any muscle will result in an erection. |

cobra, you'd have to have a working pump, or someone doing the pumping(CPR/bypass). I've seen people right after they've died with and without CPR and I've never seen it. Now, priapisms are a whole nother topic altogether. |

angilion, have you ever had a biology lab in shich you flex and relax the muscles of an animal postmortem? It's probably along those same lines; get to the body quickly enough after death, make sure there is a Na/K gradient and send electric current through it. Thats how we did it with muscles of the arms, legs, and thoracic sections. The penile section really shouldn't be much different.
or they have a much simpler way of doing it that we just dont know about, like a penis enlarger pump kind of tool. |
