show me historical proof OUTSIDE of the bible or other religious writings of a man named jesus christ
hint:christ isnt a name its an honorific meaning "annointed" and jesus is a romanization of joshua
so his name would have been something like joshua ben josef (joshua son of josef) |

Tacitus mentions Christ as related from Christians at least 80 years after the events had supposedly taken place. here is the relevant chapter of Tacitus' Annals. When taken in context, he is basically saying "There are these people called 'Christians' and this is what they believe". His account is a tertiary source on this subject and is not reliable enough to conclude anything from. |

Why all the not-very-famous people? There's good reason to believe that William Shakespeare was a pen name used by a small circle of writers rather than an individual. Also Socrates probably didn't exist, at least not as Plato described him. If they want to invoke a flame war, then religious figures like Jesus and Solomon are questionable at best as well. |

To be fair though, the man Jesus actually existed and was fairly influential in the region (according to historians). Whether or not he was the son of god however...let that be for another day. |
