@davymids First of all, I was never an immigrant. I was born in America, but my ancestors were immigrants. Big difference there chief. I think everyone realizes that America was founded on the hard work and sweat of an immigrant population. America contiues to thrive from immigrant professionals.
There is a growing problem of people immigrating into this country illegally. What Americans are upset at are people who are working here illegally. Somehow, I doubt our Lebanese friend is working here illegally.
In America, we rely on immigrants to fill prestigious positions at top universities. At the university I attend, the majority of deans and directors are immigrants. We are thankful to have them.
Immigrants are not bad, America thrives becaue we accept them. But, illegal immigrants undermine our economy. If you don't get this point, then please, seek education. |

Interestingly extremist position you have there, davymid. I'm curious about exactly how far you take it.
For example:
Are you in favour of allowing people to choose which country's laws apply to them at any given time, regardless of where they are?
Are you in favour of banning opposition to conquest by politics and numbers?
Or maybe you lean another way:
Are you in favour of completely dismantling nations and having one world state? |

Dude, America is America BECAUSE of all the nationalities that converge there, with all their skills, all their experiences etc. America is America because it's a melting pot. It's what made America great.
And unless you're Native American, then you have no place telling people to f*ck off home to their country, because their papers aren't in order. Those people are wiping up your sh*t, cleaning your garbage, and laundering you bedsheeds. Jobs you don't want to do.
The Americans that are "unemployed" would not take those kinds of jobs, same thing happens in my home of the UK. You should be grateful rather than xenophobic. The very people that you rail against that should be sent home are the very people that prop up your society... |

Citizenship needed here? Since when? 1950 or something. Now days people just cross the southern border and live here.
You can say you are illegal and you can get medical care, welfare, schooling for kids, section 8 housing. In fact you can get everything except deported.
So why bother with citizenship? If you do then you are a bigger sucker than the Amnericans who let you sponge off them. |

If you move to a country permanently and take nationality there, you should become of that country, all the way. I wouldn't be that overt about it personally, but that's me. |
