Here's what I don't understand. If Barr was so smart, and "infiltrated" Anon, what the hell did he think would happen? Anon is famous for doing exactly what they did to Barr.

Crosscheck it. This story is all over the net right now. Yes, the internet is an echo chamber for lies, but somehow I don't think this story could get plastered all over every tech blog without SOMEONE legitimately refuting its truth. I've looked. Not one story has pointed to this being a hoax. If it were, don't you think that HB Gary would be in damage control mode right now, sending out press releases refuting this story? |

This is a pretty awesome story- whether you like what Anonymous is about, don't, or are indifferent. It's just a damn good story. Like some kind of 80's flick where the douchebag jock tries to take down a bunch of nerds, but the nerds fight back and win. Except the douchebag jock is also a nerd. |

I was just reading the IRC transcript of the HBGary CEO talking to various anons, in which the CEO keeps appealing to the impact these actions have on the public image of Anonymous.

Anon does not require a leader since it is a social collective. And since the words 'social' and 'collective' are not in the lexicon of the "free market" ideologues (those of neo- liberal/conservative economic and social engineering thinking<which most of them DON'T do>)
I don't agree with everything that anon does, but that is the nature of a collective. It is part and parcel of a social democracy, which what the imperial police state hates. |
