I suppose if they were warned NOT to do this and they still continued then this is a reasonable punishment.

Although I'm sure the kids probably didn't mean to destroy the bathtub, it's still a reasonably fair lesson.
My teenage sister has a JOB, and when she wrecked my mom's car, she refused to pay to get it fixed OR to pay for the higher insurance. On top of that, she's also still allowed to occasionally use the car when she wants.
So... yeah. I guess rather teach the lesson early than risk ending up with a child like my sister. |

I've dealt with kids playing with beyblades before. They can be brutal with them. I don't blame the father. |

Too right. If I misbehaved/broke house rules, I expected to have privileges taken away from me. For good. I would also have no bad feeling about making them pay for part of the damage. It'll teach the little gits to respect other people's property, hopefully. |
