And a piccolo is a TYPE of flute, but people still call it a piccolo. The instrument he is playing may be a TYPE of tuba, but it is NOT a tuba. The fingerings aren't always the same either. If you talk to a conductor or anyone involved in an orchestra and mention a tuba, they will not interchange it with a sousaphone.
