I was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning a few years ago, and they never told me what my BAC was, but they told me that my organs were going to start hemmoraging soon, and they had to give me a shot to stop it. I was still concious.
It is possible.

@Volsunga: That's exactly how breathalyzers work. My father-in-law has worked in designing them for years-- if you've recently had a drink of alcohol, any residue will skew the test results. It's the same reason people take a drink of booze after a drunk-driving related crash and then tell the officers it was to settle their nerves afterward-- it invalidates any results they'd get. |
