Try it; it works. The trick is in the stirring. It's the same reason why ice cream melts much faster if you put it in front of a fan blowing 65 degree (F) air than if you just set it in a 100 degree (F) room. |

The potato thing is called blanching. It also works well with tomatoes. |

The only thing I hate about the t-shirt thing is that one sleeve ends up on the inside, but the other is on the outside (of the finished fold)! I prefer them both on the inside. |

I highly doubt the soda in the inside would be "ice cold". I keep my freezer at -18 c, putting room temperature soda for 2 minutes inside doesnt cool it down enough. Using salted water only increases surface contact, it doesnt magically transform water into liquid nitrogen |

tokiokoos, i didnt get the lace one at first, but remember to pull though the loose ends, not the loops, put each end though the other loop, it works. but takes a few trys getting used to it.
t-shirt one is good. |
