Wednesday, January 26, 2011 8:30:04 AM I thought being unique was the in thing. I always wondered why everyone wanted an iPhone, and be different or stand out all at the same time. Then again, being a hypocrite is already part of our genetic code. |

Sunday, January 23, 2011 11:25:44 PM So, if you want to open your iphone buy the correct tool to do it? I have one from when I needed to get into my nokia a few years ago to clean out the soeaker. That was a hollow tork , not really easy to buy but perfectly accesible. |

Sunday, January 23, 2011 9:19:10 PM @jamie76 I have more to write about but time is short for me. As for the customizable part I do give the android platform that it is more flexible as for the icon placement goes. But imagine this: Which would be better, if you were driving and you want to access music quickly, the iDevice has a boring square, but the thing is I can access everything without even looking. While on droid you have to access other screens. I wish if I could ave more time so I could write a more definitive argument but still overall. The design of the iDevice is more simple and easier to trouble-shoot than droid. Great thing about droid is the google service. I was wowed by it and still today. Other wise go to iDevice. As for the people who wants things for free you can always jailbreak to get unlimited paid apps, tweak how you want your device to run and much much more. Also you can unlock for free too. Just require an hour or so to do it. :) Drat, my replies looks like its written by a kid. |

Sunday, January 23, 2011 9:05:52 PM @jamie76 I disagrees, first of all my credibility for what I'm about to say. I used to work at Best Buy Mobile just until recently. I troubleshoot many many phones, using the resource Best Buy Mobile gives me and my personal experience. Standing as a consumer and a sale's representative/technician I would say that I do not like the android platform as much. Cons: Background task- (having to install a function that should already be pre-installed.)iDevice* double tap home, and delete. Problems- When hardware/software issues arises, it is most of the time extremely difficult to reverse the process and or fix. (iDevice* plug in>restore from backup.) Oh and another thing, please reconsider or at least try out the HTC Evo before purchasing, I know it is boasting a 1GHz processor but it is entirely different on how the system runs compared to idevices. Droids process more like a mini laptop while iDevice process as a standalone. (Best I can describe. Faster does n |

Sunday, January 23, 2011 1:14:15 AM Don't know if any other UK posters know what I mean by "star driver", but my husband just told me he has screwdrivers in the garage that could open this now. He said this type of screw is mostly seen on cars and vans... Any other UK users familiar with this? If so, one wholesale shipment of these babies to the USA and Apple are back at square one. |

Saturday, January 22, 2011 9:35:19 PM Chimneychang, Let me show you how completely ridiculous that argument is ::Apple makes a good product, but they want you to be part of a family, not just a consumer.:: So I'm gonna give Uncle Steve (Wozniak) a call and see how my other Uncle Steve (Jobs) is doing. I think one of them should float me a loan. I've kinda hit hard times. Since I'm "part of the family" I'm sure it won't be a problem ::They want to control every aspect of your ownership of their product like no porn or flash on the Iphone.:: Got some porn on it anyway. Didn't ask if Uncle Steve (either) would approve. Just did it. Simplest way to control any product completely...don't drating sell it. ::If you buy any Apple product at this point, you are agreeing with how they run their business, and should therefore not complain.:: Bought the iPod Touch, did what I wanted to do with it. I managed to deal a damaging blow to Uncle Steve's &qu |

Saturday, January 22, 2011 9:27:48 PM I have to go with EggsNHam on that. The deal is simple. I give Company X money, Company X gives the the product I paid for...end of transaction. Should Company X want to position themselves into a parental capacity over that product, then they should share in the responsibility for me using it other than directed. |

Saturday, January 22, 2011 6:49:10 PM @chimmeychang No, if I buy an Apple product, it's because I thought it was worth spending the ludicrous amount of money they were charging for it. If I spend $200-300 on an iPhone, and for whatever reason want to take the back panel off, I should be able to do so. It's not their unit anymore, it's mine. Apple has always been about tricking "non-conformists" into spending stupid amounts of money on halfway decent products. |

Saturday, January 22, 2011 12:52:04 PM This is from Apples ad in 1983/1984 on January 24 1984 Apple will release Macintosh, and you will see why 1984 wont be like "1984" the truth is, at that point apple didn't have enough of the market share to pull the stuff they do now. Apple makes a good product, but they want you to be part of a family, not just a consumer. They want to control every aspect of your ownership of their product like no porn or flash on the Iphone. Part of what makes Apple a very good product is that they limit your ability to !@#$ it up yourself. They limit the types of software, and hardware you can use to modify your product. If you buy any Apple product at this point, you are agreeing with how they run their business, and should therefore not complain.

Saturday, January 22, 2011 11:01:18 AM My Evo has torx screws... and anyone who has tried to remove small phillips screws AND small torx screws knows that the torx is a MUCH better choice. It is much harder to strip out a torx screw. |

Saturday, January 22, 2011 10:57:54 AM OMG11!! it is the end off the world.... oh hold on a minute jimmy chang in china just made a batch of 40 million screwdrivers that fit these screw heads, coming to every cheap hardware store/stall near you very soon. Btw i dont see the issue as even if iphone owners did have the correct screwdrivers unfortunatly sheep lack opposable thumbs to be able to make use of them. Better leave it too the pros |

Saturday, January 22, 2011 9:54:13 AM if you can't find the correct tool, use a stripped screw remover and then swap in your own screws she really needs to stop referring to screwdrivers as drivers while talking about a piece of technology that has software |
