Friday, January 21, 2011 9:03:14 PM @Angilion I'm not going to make any sort of remarks on your age, but I will say that LSD isn't as unknown a substance as it was once thought. LSD affects the chemical serotonin in your brain. It temporarily disables some of the natural barriers that regulate the amount of serotonin released into the brain. This causes every synapse in the brain to fire off, sending the minds ability to think off the charts. This typically results in the mind firing off faster than the mouth can relate, causing a noticeable decrease in the ability of the tripper to convey what they are experiencing. On a note of reality, there are two realities; there is the underlying reality that gives form to everything you experience, and the reality you perceive in your mind. As far as what she is describing about feeling the air, new evidence shows that the space in between objects (what I refer to as 'negative space') is actually full of particles and 'dark' matter.

Friday, January 21, 2011 4:57:16 PM The lack of knowledge is only spread with the unreal fear created around these substances. Meth and heroine kill people. Alcohol and tobacco kill people. Psychedelic related deaths are so incredibly minute it's amazing people are still afraid. Used correctly they can be a powerful tool on many levels. A blade in the hands of a surgeon can save a life, yet while used by a murderer to take one. It is time we stop pretending that all drugs are evil and start asking why these chemicals so closely match our own neurotransmitters. I didn't say that drugs are evil. I didn't even say that LSD is evil. If you've got a counter-argument to something I've actually written, go for it. It is reasonable to be wary of something that radically changes your perception of reality, works in a way that is not understood and affects your brain in an unknown way for an unknown length of time. |

Wednesday, January 19, 2011 12:08:16 AM CaptainPabst: Used correctly they can be a powerful tool on many levels. LSD is not akin to a scalpel, it's like a shotgun. No one knows exactly what it will do to any particular individual even if they seem truly happy. |

Wednesday, January 19, 2011 12:04:30 AM Angilion: I had a professor in college that described LSD much the same way you have. In fact, The "Playing Russian roulette with your sanity" quote I used earlier came from him. It's mechanism is not understood, the dosing can be vary wildly (in non-laboratory settings), and the chance of bad trips and flashbacks just make it way to risky. |

Tuesday, January 18, 2011 11:59:08 PM LSD should only ever be taken if you have a truly happy concious, free of doubt, aniexty, depression etc. Any of these will pretty much guarentee a bad trip. If you on the other hand are sound of mind and are truthfully happy (not lieing to yourself) then you will have a good trip. LSD is one of the safest drugs to take on the planet, it will never kill you. The things you may do while taking it on the hand may. Be safe kids. |

Tuesday, January 18, 2011 11:48:58 PM "Me?? There isn't any me!!!" I'm pretty sure every person who has ever taken acid has said that. |
