Sunday, January 16, 2011 9:13:40 PM We were having this argument at the founding of our nation. The Federalist Papers called them "factions" its good that some things have not changed. |

Sunday, January 16, 2011 10:27:24 AM "everything the other party does isn't necessarily wrong." This is the first time Madest has ever said this, and I can guarantee he doesn't believe it. Look up, he is trying to take the high road, and he will fall. |

Sunday, January 16, 2011 9:36:03 AM Tridirk, you don't watch the show much do you? Jon regularly has productive discussions even with people that I consider toxic, and I have never heard him raise his voice or seen him veer away from rational critique even once. The only folks who have to fear Jon are the representatives of Big Stupid. When he does become serious about something, when someone has committed the unforgivable Stupid, his quiet intensity burns through the screen and the offending party must feel as if hell hounds are at their heels. But, there is no malice behind what he does. No ill will. Just a deep commitment to Reason itself. |

Sunday, January 16, 2011 8:59:53 AM Madspeech: As I said, both sides have their hatemongers and dividers,(heck, just read your own words), that can't handle an opposition opinion. Like so many when they can't prevail in the discussion they ramp up the rhetoric, (that they so much blame on the other side). Then spout extreme claims by their opponents. Blinded by the inflated anger the point is missed. You just provided a perfect example of how the discussion and interaction goes. |

Sunday, January 16, 2011 5:35:55 AM OK Tridick. So your political opinion is the seating arrangement was wrong and the Indian shouldn't have been there. What is that called the Moron party? Jon Stewart made valid points. What you and FoxNews don't seem to see is everything the other party does isn't necessarily wrong. If the the mindless talking heads over at Fox are ordered to criticize 100% of everything that Obama does then they're bound to be wrong ohhh 90% of the time?

Saturday, January 15, 2011 6:55:32 PM The hate speech came from FoxNews. I suggest you watch it again. I was talking about you.... But Stewart would qualify also. The only difference is that he speaks for your political opinion and against those to which you disagree. So you are fine with him. But the purpose, intent, and tone of his speech and show is no different than those that you detest. |

Saturday, January 15, 2011 4:48:20 PM Jon Stewart is inconsequential. He relays faux "news" and opinions, too bad most people can't tell the difference. |

Saturday, January 15, 2011 12:32:48 PM Good old Jon Stewart, not afraid to tell it like it is and be funny at the same time. I get more actual news info from him and Colbert in 1 hour than I would watching any given news channel all day long. |

Saturday, January 15, 2011 11:29:49 AM @Tridirk he actually is his own corporation. Look up the "JonCo" bit... funny stuff. I was going to comment on the video, but my I don't feel like sticking my neck out for the likes of CrakrJak and 5Cats to start swinging at it. I'll just quietly enjoy Jon Stewart for what he is to me, a slightly left-leaning satirist that makes the problems of the world seem less inane and scary. |

Saturday, January 15, 2011 11:22:59 AM @tridirk That's what I meant, he's paid to make fun of the corporate run news networks. That's why I trust him more. I know Comedy Central is itself a corporation owned by a larger one (Viacom). But, since it is his job I prefer him over the other news networks. Comedy Central is owned by the same people that own Fox News and MSNBC Uhh no Comedy Central's owned by Viacom, Fox News is owned by NewsCorp, and MSNBC is a joint venture between Microsoft (MicroSoft Network) and General Electric (they own NBC). |

Saturday, January 15, 2011 10:48:38 AM Auburnjunky said: "College kids all goo goo for Obama = cheering, where there should not have been any" I think hearing that Gabby Giffords opened her eyes was completely cheerworthy. Face it. The speech was one of his best, and the cons on Fox "news" became ridiculously petty. |

Saturday, January 15, 2011 10:06:30 AM @Andicicle Not owned, he is just an influential shareholder. Comedy Central is owned by the same people that own Fox News and MSNBC. The whole f*cking point of The Daily Show/Colbert Report is that you already know the news and they get to mock the news networks by putting a humorous spin on what you already know. If you actually "get your news" from them, then you are an idiot and shouldn't be allowed to breed. There are plenty of legit news sources outside the American media circle. BBC, Deutsche Welle, and Al Jazeera English are all fairly politically neutral (except when Al Jazeera reports on the middle east) and your local news stations will tend to be naturally fair. |

Saturday, January 15, 2011 9:49:10 AM If you lean left you will love the words of this Obama/lib cheerleader. If you don't lean left you just find him a pompous windbag. I liked the one comment about him being more believable than a corporate ran news network? What the heck do you think he is? He doesn't work for free, does he. I'll bet he in fact might be his own corporation? Don't know for sure, but just a guess. He is a much a divider and spreader of hate speech as many on opposition stations. |

Saturday, January 15, 2011 7:14:25 AM Jon Stewart is rated the most trusted "news reporter" in the nation. WHAT! the picked him over Steven Colbert? those stupid twats! really, Daily Show with Jon Steward is okay, but Chelseay Lately is on at the same time and I gotta get my Lindsey Lohan & Charlie Sheen fix. |
