Wednesday, January 12, 2011 5:54:58 PM "Wadaya' think, Boys? "The Buddy Christ!" Doesn't it just... Pop?... "Buddy Christ..."" I'm wondering: What is the distinction between those flavorless wafers and the Doritos, exactly? Where inside of a bible are the wafer prescribed? Do you think maybe somewhere there is a company that makes "communion chips" for church sacrament? Do THEY charge for the chips?

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 5:31:45 PM Here is a simple solution: if you are offended, don't buy Doritos. They have freedom to insult whoever they want. The only consequences should be that if people like their ad, they sell more product. If people don't like it, sales go down. Now, I'm Catholic, but I don't care about this silly commercial enough for it to impact my buying behavior one way or another. |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 4:49:17 PM Nothing funnier than seeing a conservative bitching about something not being "politically correct" enough. LOL! |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 4:24:52 PM Hm, that's the ad that had James Rolfe (aka the Angry Video Game Nerd) in it for half a second as an extra. I saw it on Cinemassacre. Pretty good. But since it's Fox News and they are, of course, fair and balanced, this is a pretty serious issue. How dare they make a light, harmless joke involving pastors! |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 4:24:18 PM Apparently Doritos doesn't have enough Catholic consumers. |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 4:19:41 PM @Desertwolf. I'm happy when when things on the internet don't come to arguing and disagreeing simply because we can. I'm not often happy. |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 4:00:06 PM @hatface Wow, are we seeing eye-2-eye and not screaming at each other over posts... awesome :) And, wait a minute, are we not calling each other names...? What is going on... I'm so very confused :) So it is possible to have a grown up discussion on here. There is hope for us all

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 3:57:07 PM @gonzoen "By the way, why is someone who obviously views himself as a devout christian doing a TV show like this one instead of helping the poor and helpless? That would be a lot more in the spirit of Christ." So...the two are mutually exclusive? He can't represent one side in a debate (such as it is)then do some good works after the 10-minute engagment? |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 3:52:40 PM @Desertwolf. Fair point, I see what you mean. Fox news is a different news platform compared to BBC world news, etc.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 3:50:01 PM @gorgack2000 Nice site, glad to see the site wasn't editing any of the videos they showed (btw that was sarcasm). Now, I fully admit that there are times when Fox News goes off the deep end and doesn't research a story as well as they should, just like all of the news channels. With today's pace, either you break the story first or you don't. In the effort to not fill too many pages here, just take the "The Fundamentals of the Economy are Strong" clip. Fox ran clips of Obama's team talking about the economy, to include one of VP Biden from the election trail. Are we to understand that during the election trail the statement was true but a year later it is not true? Maybe I misunderstand the word "Fundamentals", but I don't think they can change that drastically in one year... |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 3:49:09 PM @gonzeon "As a christian and a ration human being I am offended by Lars insinuating that the commercial teaches that Doritos and Pepsi is the body and blood of JC. Lars seems to have forgotten that communion is supposed to be done in rememberance of Jesus, not to actually be his flesh and blood." Look up the term "transubstantiation". |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 3:43:48 PM I do think they crossed a line. That whole excuse that "they never showed the consecration itself, therefore it's not sacrilige" is stupid. On a side note, I will be selling Muhammed t-shirts next week. No one actually saw me draw the image, so Muslims should be cool with that, right? |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 3:43:16 PM That was funny...and in good taste... If it was an offensive catholic commercial there would have been priests luring little kids to church with doritios. |
