Thursday, January 13, 2011 1:00:33 AM I live in Nashville. We had some hardcore floods last year. Killed 31 people and caused over a billion dollars of damage. I know how hard it is to see your community destroyed by flooding. Stay strong Aussies. |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 5:24:41 PM "13 people dead...have you forgotten about pakistan? get some perspective" 215 died in pakistan in 2008 costing an estimated 5.2 billion in infastructure 13 people so far confirmed dead, another 70 or so still missing for the past several days, an estimated 15 billion in infastructure washed away perspective enough? perhaps u ment the kashmir earthquake of 2005? with an oficial toll of 74,698 perhaps u really wanted something "really" serious? how about the Huang He River flood in China 1931? 1.3 million- 4 million people perished or how about u respect the people that are currently fighting for their lives and possessions, and punch yourself in the face next time you find yourself thinking "oh well, only X amount of people died" |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 2:04:26 PM death toll is up to 13 now :( it would seem that the river has peaked and the water should stop rising, as long as the rain stays away!! cleanup should beable to begin in the next few days and the floods are not in the NE part of australia (that was last year) it is SE queensland |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 11:56:32 AM How slow IAB, late last year was when the floods hit Ingham and Nth Queensland, now all that water is heading south along with a slow rain band thats causing flashflooding all along the eastern Australia, about 16 cities so far have been flooded but this, Brisbane which is the capital of QLD has just flooded yesterday. Some workers on the waters edge are trapped in the buildings, however brissie was prepaired and they evacuated low lying areas. SO far 11 people are dead with 75 missing, mostly children |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 10:57:55 AM I lived in Brisbane when I was little and remember our house becoming an island during floods (had to be around 1973). The army drove a 'duck' in our neighborhood to see if we needed rescue and/or food and my father had to swim to get to work. When it happens in Australia, it happens big. |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 9:39:15 AM In Genesis 9:15-16, God told Noah and his sons, “And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. Except Australia. Have you seen what I did to that place? I can't even believe it myself sometimes." |

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 7:34:44 AM One would think that Cindy Jacobs would have jumped all over this before taking the express train to full crazy in suggesting that the Arkansas bird-kill resulted from the repeal of DADT. |
