Tuesday, January 11, 2011 7:28:57 PM @Gerry1of1 Hawaiians did not have a word for white man. It is used to describe white foreigners. Haole used in proper Polynesian way. It actually means one who is without breath. In the context of a dead person or in a sense without life spirit. Ha = breath 'ole=without Aloha actually means alo = with spirit life ha = breath When you say Aloha you touch foreheads and inhale the other persons breath. This is proper Polynesian greeting that has been corrupted by the early missionaries. Therefore Aloha is used as hello or goodbye or love, but it's not really. Hawaiians did not have those words. It was corrupted to appease Europeans. So when Captain Cook set foot in Kealakekua. He was considered a man without breath. Thus the association of white foreigners with this word. Confuse you bruddah? |

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 7:24:52 PM The fact that Palin is pro-gun isn't exactly breaking news. And I'm sure she still is. |

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 7:18:24 PM jen..... i really hate sara palin but how does being "pro-life" and "anti-gun control" not make sense to you? Maybe the problem here with gun control fans is lacking an ability for abstract thought? The vast majority of people that own guns and recognize that americans have a right to own guns do not desire to shoot them at people! |

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 7:14:46 PM ...our economy being in the pooter is still 20 times more powerful than Canadas. And just because we've had a higher unemployment rate than canada for 2 of the last 60 years doesn't mean we still don't have a much stronger and more successful economy... seriously, just because when you watch TV and see news about the US economy doesn't mean that Canada has suddenly surpassed us |

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 6:23:36 PM @K3vin Yes you are so right. After all Canada is where? Also who is your largest trading partner. Your economy is very much tied with ours as with Mexicos. Get a grip. |

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 5:58:24 PM "The sheer irony of any canadian or european calling Americans "stupid" ALMOST isn't even worth commenting on.... almost....." Really dude? So your economy is in the pooter because you're all super intelligent? I don't think 'stupid' is the right word, but it's not that far off. |

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 5:55:53 PM hey, Canada kicks ass. plain and simple. as for the US, I can say from experience of living in 3 different states for 6 years total, that i never want to move there again. I'm proud of being Canadian born and raised, and proud to live here now. Also, your capitalist and anti-socialist approach for economics is drowning your economy. |
