Yeah what AJD said.

I read somewhere that, only 2% of the land on Earth is developed, and only 2% of that is urbanized.

Yes, that's taking into account water area.

"Every human being on earth, as long as they stand in a 3 by 3 foot area, could fit on Rhode Island. Or so I've read 4 years ago, idk."

There are 5,280 feet in a mile so there are 27,878,400 square feet in a mile (5,280^2)and there are 1,214 square miles in Rhode Island.

27,878,400 x 1,214 = 33,844,377,600 square feet in Rhode Island.

Divided by 3 for 3 feet per person means that 11,281,459,200 could fit in Rhode Island given a 3 foot square of space to stand.

Space is not a problem. One need only look at the massive expanses of undeveloped land in the American West and Midwest to see this. The problem, arguably is resources. However, we have the ability to develop land for resource production easily. Think of all the farmland that could be made in Northern Africa if modern techniques were used and we start pushing back the Sahara. Necessity will fix the political obstacles in developing the third world. The development of renewable energy will preserve non-renewable resources. We still have a couple centuries before overpopulation is a problem, and we had better be colonizing and terraforming Mars by then.

But Just look at how much land on earth ISN'T used. It's just the people who crowd the cities in dense population.

Hooray cities. I grew up in a very rural part of New Jersey and now live in NYC. Can't imagine why people would want to live in rural areas. So boring.

Lionhart, IQ doesn't change with age.

I say we put every third person in some sort of furnace.

First we should shoot anyone who's IQ is half what it should be at their age, then with the 1 billion or so left...
