@Cats_Suck Does having a gun not make killing someone easier? Baseball bats don't pose a danger from children, baseball bats can't fire accidentally.

I agree with finepoint. I wanna see it too. No lie, it would make my day. The father was a f***ing retard for letting his child do this. But I personally don't think he should go to jail. Perhaps getting his balls chopped off, making sure he won't be able to reproduce ever again.

I myself have seen the footage of the boy shooting just before the death it's his fathers arrogance that led up to this he thought his son could handle it against warning and obviously never showed him how to properly shoot he only had one hand supporting it and did not have the stock up to his shoulder.

Also Uzi....

vs.
Micro Uzi...

Welcome to Massachusetts backward logic on guns. They're now trying to convict the sherrif of that county of mansluaghter or was it involuntary manslaughter when he had next to nothing to do with it. This "Dr." in all of his wisdom picked of all the things for his son to shoot a micro uzi which shoots insanley fast and climbs quickly after one of the rangemasters there specifically told him not to have his son shoot that for the reasons I just said. Plenty of mistakes were made that day but primarily by the parent and now the sherrif is unemployed and the sportsmans club it happened at is no longer in buissness beacuse of a parents stupidity.

To clarify, the father was not on trial. He was testifying in a trial against one of the event's organizers for involuntary act manslaughter.

The father is not facing charges, he is laying out the facts for why another person (the event organizer) should be held responsible for his son's death and go to jail.

Moderators please address some of the previous comments. They are beyond distasteful - what if the boy's family should happen to read this?

They were at a shooting range event trying out a uzi. I don't see a problem with taking your kids to the shooting range. I have to admit shooting guns is kinda fun. It's like people getting mad at archery competitions because that's all archery was designed to do--kill.

What went down was, it was an Uzi sub machine gun. It has a helluva kick, and the kid pressed the trigger until the full-auto fire climbed and shot the kid through the chin, into his brain.

Again, I instate, shooting a bow and arrow (or for that matter a hunting rifle) is very different than shooting off an Uzi. The hunting rifle is meant to provide food for your family. The Uzi is meant to make people dead.

Come on people. This isn't rocket science here.

I really don't like guns but some people are so annoying about this. They were at a shooting range event trying out a uzi. I don't see a problem with taking your kids to the shooting range. I have to admit shooting guns is kinda fun. It's like people getting mad at archery competitions because that's all archery was designed to do--kill. It seems from the news articles that the gun misfired somehow? I don't really understand how it all went down, seems bizarre to me.

You really want to see an 8 year old child shoot himself? Kind of messed up aren't you.

i just wanna see the kid shooting himself...why can't anything good ever be shown on the internet? anyways...the dad shouldn't be going to jail for this...it wasn't like it was his intention to have his son accidentally shoot himself. not to mention he's prolly suffering enough at the loss of his son.

Why the hell can anyone get a hold of an uzi in the first place? It's an uzi.

The line of questioning from the prosecutor leads me to believe that the dad is not the one on trial, but in fact the guys that let his son shoot the gun are. He mentions a "flyer" about an "event" that colleagues had been to and said it was "well run", this would be the shooting event. If this was a shooting event, then it stands to reason that it's the range getting prosecuted, not the father, for failing to protect the childs life.

Hate to gum up the arguments with facts, but apparently the kid's father is NOT on trial, he's made a killing with a book and settlement money. The organizers of the event are up on involuntary manslaughter charges.

Here's just one story on this case.

"he made a mistake his son died, he's already sad enough."

I agree. But no 8 year old should be playing with an uzi. Touchy situation here. :|
