To start - None of us really know anything about the situation here beyond the fragments we get from the news - and they are decidedly slanted towards the positive.
The fact is, having a family member spiral into a life of crime and addiction leads the family through a difficult path which includes reaching out, forgiving, etc... But eventually families have to attempt the tough love approach. This can mean you get direct with the person, call them an embarrassment and tell them you are ashamed of them. Not a pleasant process - but it can wake some people up, and make them realise they've reached rock-bottom.
So, I don't fault the mother here. |

I don't think his mom is a "biotch"...if you've ever dealt with a person with drug/alcohol problems---tons of broken and empty promises-you get to point where you say-"let go and let God"--tough love baby....either you continue and be an enabler or you move on with YOUR life..... |

@Myjobsucks - I saw that this a.m. and thought the same thing - she'll put in the collection plate at the church for health and human services to benefit strangers, but can't reach out to her own son becuase he's an embarassment. Reeaal nice. |

I agree that this is very heartwarming, but I will laugh when it comes back that this guy is a convicted felon for robbing liquor stores and sucking $%#@ for crack! Boy won’t the news look stupid then! |

I think his mom seems like a cold biotch. On the morning show she said in the past she kept talking to him about "letting the lord into his life" but then she goes on talking about how ashamed she was to see him "holding a sign."
Pride is a nasty thing, lady. Remember the story of the prodigal son? Guess not.
She's a typical christian, using her religion as a pedestal for herself so she can look down on everyone - and never would she PRACTICE what she preaches. |

Been in a situation where Tabloids offered to fly my mother out to see me after making the news. Then got offered a lot of money to have me meeting my family off the plane back home. Refused it all It's private moment to be reunited. I understand he's having his life turned round got a job with Cleveland cavaliers good for him. But this was unnecessary and shows type of person he still is someone who will sell anything for a cheap buck. |
