Internalized oppression doesn't mean that the oppressed group created the standards by which they are measured. It was not women that originated the idea that men can sleep with whoever they want, it was men. This idea became solidified and had to be reinforced. Eventually it got to the point where members of the oppressed group, in this case, women, reinforced the idea too. However, that doesn't mean they created the oppression.
I also would really like to meet some of the men you know if you only hear women call each other sluts. |
