Sunday, December 26, 2010 12:07:09 PM These are not uncommon, they just usually don't get aired. They force players and coaches to do these interviews and they get fined if they skip them. So often you'll get stuff like this: "You know we get the puck and trow it at der net and hopefully it go in" |

Sunday, December 26, 2010 5:05:57 AM LOL, the speculation about concussion is rubbish, he is the coach and hasn't played for a few years. He did this quite deliberately as a criticism of post match interviews after he was slated for being too forthright in his interviews and after being censured he decided to give a deliberately vapid interview (he was fined £23000 for comments regarding referee's in a previous post match interview). Very intelligent guy FYI. |

Sunday, December 26, 2010 3:17:28 AM handys003: As far as I'm aware there are no concussion rules. Speaking from my experience you usually don't notice the concussion till later, due to adrenaline, pent up energy and aggression, and the fact that you feel like you've had the sh*t kicked out of you for at least 1/3 of the match means that you don't notice injuries too well. |

Saturday, December 25, 2010 6:30:16 PM You can add Hockey and Lacrosse to that list as well. Effects are documented now: http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Health/20090127/athletes_concussions_090127/ |

Saturday, December 25, 2010 6:21:40 PM @ChrisMunich Yeah those with concussions really don't notice it all. First 24 are dangerous. You have to watch for bleeding trauma inside the brain. I'm surprised with all the recent studies, and how the NFL in America is jumping on the bandwagon. That rugby has not taken a serious approach. I'm sure they consider it a mans sport of toughness. However all that macho stuff doesn't help when your fifty and can't remember your wifes name. |

Saturday, December 25, 2010 4:53:17 PM LMAO! I've been playing rugby for about 10 years now and I can tell you from experience; I know people who talk like this (or in a similar manner). It's a dangerous sport, that's for sure, but it's also incredibly fun and win-lose-or draw, everyone is glad to sit down and have a few drinks with the other team afterwards! =) Oggy! Oggy! Oggy! Oi! Oi! Oi! |
