Thanks for your link, fiizok. I've actually visited the house, so I knew most of those...
It's kind of a polarizing movie. People either love it or hate it. Personally, I think it captures the feeling of Christmas very well and it's hilarious. |

Never heard of the movie until I moved to MI in '99. They love it up here, funniest movie ever they say. Well, that is what they say. |

"can honestly say I have never seen it, and when it was on TV, it was always on after Christmas, right when my family went visiting. Now I don't have cable, or TV, and I have no intention of ever downloading 'garbage' of Christmas past.
That and the movie is "dated"."

I remember going to see this in the theater in '83. What killed the popularity was the fact that all of the best parts were previewed on the commercials, a big let-down. Over the past 27 years I've developed an appreciation for the film though. |
