Sunday, December 26, 2010 5:49:51 PM @Gleeballs, they probably paid for the bears before hand for the game OR the rick is paying a certain amount for every bear throw in. |

Monday, December 20, 2010 7:01:21 AM "how does this affect charity?" The teddy bears get donated to charities where children who need a friend get them. Often they got to hospitals where they are given to little kids to help ease the pain they are feeling. My daughter has one from a visit to a hospital from when she was 6. |

Friday, December 17, 2010 11:33:41 PM @SilverThread Yes, all the bears are donated afterwords. I believe they are split up between the Childrens miracle network, various childrens hospitals, and families in poverty (among others I'm sure). @Golkar 17,000 thrown at the Hitmen game alone. The Oil Kings are doing the same this weekend. I'm pretty sure 23,000+ combined will get done easily. Heres hoping Edmonton can show the same amount of compassion and good will. I can't believe I'm gonna say this but, Good job Calgary!!! |

Friday, December 17, 2010 5:42:38 PM Do they donate the bears afterward? That'd be a great Toys for Tots promo. |

Friday, December 17, 2010 3:51:09 PM There were actually a little under 17,000 bears actually thrown, the quota was 23,000. @malikymoo: Charity. A total of over 50 charities had requested for the season 23,000 teddy bears. The Hitmen encourage you to bring your own, or purchase one at the stadium for 10 bucks. It's all to help out people in need, even of something as simple as a teddy bear. |
