Thursday, December 02, 2010 5:50:42 PM @snunicycler Allright, I take the point that The Nazi's were voted to power in 1932, but the fact that under Hitler there wasn't another election kind off makes the argument that he WAS a dictator. As mmill928 points out, the secret police are a major part of any dictatorship. Just because a country has elections doesn't mean that the person in charge can't control the outcome. |

Thursday, December 02, 2010 12:24:58 AM i don't see why we don't just assassinate fu..pricks like these these days, and that whole argument "what if the guy who takes his place is worse?" then assassinate THAT fu..prick, and so on until the people in power in those countries get the idea: DON'T BE A FUC...PRICK-HEAD! |

Wednesday, December 01, 2010 10:27:25 PM Do you seriously think that anyone could have voted out Hitler or Stalin? What do you think their secret police were for, if not to root out any dissenters? |

Wednesday, December 01, 2010 7:30:08 PM i should restate my comment, a dictator is someone that has complete control, as long as people are voting then you cannot consider someone a dictator because SOME of the power lies in the hands of the people voting for them. hitler, napolean, etc... they are crazy rulers but were not necessarily dictators. the only exeption i think is heusein, who would kill people that did not vote for him. |

Wednesday, December 01, 2010 7:25:05 PM hitler, stalin, heusein... weren't they voted into their positions and therefore are not actually dictators? this wasn't a video of the top 10 crazy rulers. |

Wednesday, December 01, 2010 6:47:18 PM I actually knew why the Turkmenistan guy made it #1 before they said it, but wasn't he obsessed with mangoes as well? Or was that someone else... And @Spocom Napoleon was a total pimp, he created an empire, gave the Jews the most freedom they had ever had after the Diaspora, and reformed the government. |

Wednesday, December 01, 2010 4:09:55 PM Hitler didn't even make the list?! Killing millions of innocent people just doesn't make you a good dictator? Kim Jong-il didn't even start a genocide, and he made it! What about Napoleon? He was exiled like twice! He totally screwed up France! Just look at them! This list is crap. You can't leave out classics. |

Wednesday, December 01, 2010 12:34:10 PM They forgot to mention the fables spread about Kim Jong-Il's birth that the population actually believes. Wikipedia "any North Koreans believe that he has the "magical" ability to "control the weather" based on his mood." "Kim Jong-il's official biography[8] states that he was born in a secret military camp on Baekdu Mountain in Japanese Korea on 16 February 1942.[9] Official biographers claim that his birth at Baekdu Mountain was foretold by a swallow, and heralded by the appearance of a double rainbow over the mountain and a new star in the heavens." |

Wednesday, December 01, 2010 12:14:49 PM What about Caligula (Gaius Iulius Caesar Augustus Germanicus)? Had heads removed from statues of Gods and replaced with his own, had a life size statue of himself made so people could worship it (some sources claim clothes were put on it so it would be dressed as he was). Frequently dressed to appear as various Roman Gods (including female ones). Would stand in the Temple of Castor and Pollux between the 2 statues and have people to worship him as Jupiter. |
