Are you serious? of course we know that not every muslim is a terrorist. But if you look at whats going on in France you would see that all of the muslims want to overrun us. France has already warned the U.S. |

Back during the days of the Barbary Pirates, the Marines would take the dead Pirates, who were muslim btw, and place them in barrels of lard and then after about 48 hours they would leave them where the other (muslim) pirates would find them.
What a fun time back then, the Barbary States took christian slaves and worked them to death and the US was profiting from the trade and import of slaves from every quarter of the world.
We all had so much in common back then. |

Maybe they went through those methods to try and see if he was really acting alone. That there weren't more people involved. |

If he was really in contact with Jihadists in Pakistan, and talking to them about wanting to be involved in "Violent Jihad" as the FBI claimed, they should have been able to arrest him for conspiracy to commit an act of terror without going through the elaborate sting. |

I would be. I don't care what race, religion, creed or colour the person is. Also i don't think these tactics were that bad. They provided him with a fake bomb, i'm sure they closely monitored everything. Probably the only reason they did it this way was so that the kid wouldn't lawyer up and say "oh it was a friend and he was just joking LOLZ!" |

So, CrakrJak, the end always justifies the means? I'm not trying to say this kid wasn't potentially dangerous, but the lengths to which the US government has abandoned the very principles that make this country a bastion of freedom in the name of fighting the war on terror is extremely disturbing.

Entrapment
By the definition of entrapment he was not tricked into doing it. Alternative definitions are that an agent "induces a person to commit an offense which the person would otherwise have been unlikely to commit."
He looked for help, they gave him a fake bomb. They didn't induce him to commit a crime he was unlikely to commit. He was looking for help to commit it. |

Attn: This is not entrapment, the undercover FBI agents gave him multiple opportunities to opt out of his decision, and even recommended he prayed instead. They did not give him the idea or provide any support for it beyond what he had himself. Therefore, no entrapment. |

@Ajikan, the bomb was a fake BECAUSE of the FBI. Left alone, this man would have bought a REAL bomb, and used it to really kill infedels. Get it? It's not "fbi lies" it's the police doing their job, and doing it VERY well!
The FBI didn't stand of a street corner saying "Psst, hey buddy, wanna buy a bomb and kill some infedels?" Mohamed Mohamud was actively seeking terrorist connections with a plan to use a bomb to kill non-believers. He planned this for years!
That he was stopped, that no one was injured is a blessing. |
