@sbeelz

Obama as not considered raising any taxes? Have you heard of cap & trade? Have you heard of new oil taxes? Have you heard of higher taxes on small business making over $250K? Have you heard on taxes on dirivatives? Have you heard of new corporate taxes? Who do you suppose ends up paying for all this in the long run?

I don't bother to use rethorics...

PierreJeanFR, there's no such word as "rhetorics," and even if there were, you wouldn't know how to use "them." Thanks for proving who's the retard here so I don't have to.

ITT- idiots who don't realize that Obama actually cut their taxes. I got a MASSIVE tax refund thanks to a tax credit that Obama passed

sbeelz, you didn't get a tax cut; you got a check. They're not the same.

Imagine that your landlord gave you $100 and told you he just cut your rent. "Great!" you say. "I can use the extra $100 a month to buy a new home entertainment system!"

"Oh, wait," he says. "I'm not cutting your rent next month. In fact, I might ever raise it. I'll want till the last week or so to decide. But meanwhile your next month's rent's the same as last month."

"So, you really didn't cut my rent. You just gave me $100, right?"

"Oh, no! That's a rent CUT."

"Okay, so if you cut my rent, does that mean you're raising it next month."

"Oh, no! It's going to be the same as last month." (vv cont. vv)

"But it's going to be $100 higher than this month, right."

"Oh, it's still the same. It's just that your rent cut has expired, that's all."

"Okay..."

Speelz is right. A very short Google query comes up with Buffet and Gates not only donating several billions (half their yearly net worth, in fact) to charity, but also to holding a charity dinner last year in which they challenged a room full of other billionaires to do as they have done.

Normally I spend like 15 minutes in Google before commenting on political stuff, but this took, like, 2 minutes.

But since we're all giving our opinions, I don't think whether or not the rich getting richer or paying more out of pocket addresses the issue of job creation when so many of the jobs keep getting created in the third world. A lot of the money never trickles back down so much as it trickles to Asia.

But even that is too oversimplified to be totally accurate.

@handys003-
Wow, you really don't know anything about Buffet, do you? He's one of the most prolific philanthropists in the world, so I'm sure if he read your comment he'd have himself a good laugh. What good would it do for him alone to make an extra donation to the Government? He may be incredibly wealthy, but it's not his job to single-handedly fund the Federal Government. What he's advocating is for a tax increase on everyone who makes insane amounts of money.

ITT- idiots who don't realize that Obama actually cut their taxes. I got a MASSIVE tax refund thanks to a tax credit that Obama passed in order to put more money in the hands of almost all working Americans. Unless you're among the top 5% highest earners, Obama is not even considering raising your taxes.

I disagree with you so you are a Nazi?

Logical..

Call him racist, uneducated, homophobic and radical too. If you want to marginalize him do it up right. If he is evil enough what he thinks has no validity at all

differenteye, PierreJeanFR, is this what passes for rhetoric these days? You lost the argument on the facts, so now you're just flinging poo.

Well he's one for talk. He's said this kind of "what needs to be done" before, but never does so himself. You talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You know there is is another saying Mr Buffet. "Talk is cheap". Let's see you walk the walk. Nothing stopping you from dumping half your fortune into the tax system. If your perchance on I-A-B Mr. Buffet, and you come across this. I'm calling you out. Heck give me 1 billion and watch what I can do for my fellow residents here in Hawaii.

It always amazes me how ordinary people so strongly defend the rich. They must think that they are sure to win the lottery then they will have to pay extra taxes on their new money. The gap between the richest Americans and the rest of us is growing bigger all the time.

differenteye, you can suck it. I took economics in college 40 years ago, and my professor was a Keynesian f**tard. I turned his class into a complete shambles, but he couldn't do anything about it, because I won every debate with him. He had to rewrite his tests to include the points where I proved him wrong.

And what I posted below are FACTS. You can look them up yourself, provided you can figure out that Google thing.

Handsompod, I checked out your video, and all I saw was a guy arguing with a donkey, which just happens to be the DEMOCRAT mascot. The only difference is that instead of braying "HEE HAW, HEE HAW!" Democrats bray, "RACIST, RACIST!" Other than that, they're EXACTLY alike.

goaliejerrym thanks for answering my question. Apparently, the reason liberals cannot grasp the simplest concepts of economics is that you believe a whole bunch of crap that isn't true. The Bush tax cuts got us out of a deep recession caused by the dot.com crash and made worse by 9/11. Bush cut the top marginal tax rate from 39.6% to 35% in 2003. Four years later, unemployment was 4.5% and GDP growth was 3%. Then the Democrats took over congress in 2007, and we all know what has happened since then.

The current recession was cause by the subprime mortgage meltdown and subsequent bursting of the housing bubble. Now, we can argue all day long over who was at fault there, but NOBODY believes it was caused by low tax rates.

Is there a lib that doesn't want to take more money from us in the form or taxes, fees, or licenses?

How much tax is enough? Ask yourself this, "Who's money is it?". "The Governments, or the individuals'?"

Also, for those of you that like class warfare. You know, where you get the rich to pay more even though 1/2 of the Americans pay NO income tax at all.

They just raise your taxes, but don't call them taxes. Check the fees you pay? Or license fees? or what you pay to use a National Park? Or the amount of Federal Tax on a gallon of gasoline? So even us non-rich get taxed heavily. Plus, don't forget if you put a tax on business, this becomes a cost of doing business and all business takes their costs and add a percentage for profit. So when you tax that business, guess who pays the higher tax? ... anyone that buys that TV, car, watch, diapers, furniture, etc.

Wake up. Have government cut instead of raising fees and taxes.

Most people will point at the Reagan years and say "look lowering taxes for the wealthy stimulates the economy because it trickles down" but that is not the case anymore with this globalization. Reduced taxes on the wealthy means they take that extra capital where they can get the best returns on investment, which turns out to be places like India and China. So lowered taxes has moved jobs from USA to foreign nations where they can buy cheap labor.
