Sunday, November 14, 2010 11:14:02 PM Oscola: You can get pre-cooked bacon in my local Sainsburys. So it's not just an American thing, but it's pretty pooty taste anyway. I prefer my bacon less crispy, with a fried egg in some toast. mmmm! |

Sunday, November 14, 2010 6:07:00 PM Wait....Americans buy pre-cooked bacon? Fair enough if it's bacon bits, but otherwise that's crap, I'd much prefer to fry my own fresh bacon. Do you like microwave it or something to heat it up? |

Sunday, November 14, 2010 7:54:35 AM Why would you throw away the 'broken' bits. You can't break bacon! I would be so fat if I had her job. |

Saturday, November 13, 2010 10:04:07 PM "This is how you get the expensive "microwavable" bacon" You know you can cook regular bacon in the microwave, right? And you don't need one of those stupid plastic "bacon rack" things, either. Just a plain old dinner plate (NOT plastic or foam, the bacon grease will melt it.) and a few paper towels. Lay the strips flat on the plate and cover it with the paper towels. Tuck the edges under the plate when you set it in the microwave and commence the nuking sequence. You'll probably have to experiment with the cook time a little to figure out how long it takes to get it done the way you like it but once you know how to get it just so, you're all set! I always cook bacon this way. It's much easier than pan-frying it on the stove. |
