"Unless you put Linux on the PC instead of Windows. Then you're putting a Chevy big block into a Mustang. Sure it'll work, it'll just take some engineering."

like. Both this comment and the post.

Though I don't see why the hell everyone always have to argue over which is better. Jesus. I prefer a PC, and I like both Ubuntu and Windows for different reasons (I've got Ubuntu on my desktop and Win7 on my laptop). But I can understand why some people prefer macs and, and it's fine with me if that's how they want to spend their money.

I bought a PC primarily because of short term cost. It was cheaper than the mac.
IF i had the spare cash I would buy the Boss 302 over the Lamborghini because I think it is just plain cooler.

you get what you pay for when you build a pc.

With a PC, you get what you pay for.

With a Mac, you get what you would have paid for four years ago.

Can't we get back to the real issue here? Which would you prefer, the Mustang or the Lamborghini?

Oh, Mustang, for sure. I don't care about speed, price, anything like that. The Mustang just looks so much more... I don't know how to describe it, but it has something the Lambo doesn't.

Don't get me wrong, if I could have both I'd take both in a heart-beat. But if I could only choose one, I'd go for the 'Stang.

Yeah, that's probably about right, but for the metaphor to be spot on, you'd have to press an "allow" button every time you stepped on the gas or shifted gears; your clock would eat up all the electricity your alternator put out; and the longer you drive, the slower the car would go until you restarted it.

Unless you put Linux on the PC instead of Windows. Then you're putting a Chevy big block into a Mustang. Sure it'll work, it'll just take some engineering.

I'm still rockin' XP. Hell yeah.

But yeah, I do a lot of gaming, so it pretty much has to be Windows for me. They did release Steam for Mac though, which is awesome. Although there are issues downloading custom maps from servers, which is not awesome since I play a lot of alphas and early betas.

@GHudston

Except that to game on a mac you need to buy windows, doesn't that make buying a mac redundant when you can just buy a PC and have everything work out of the box?

Oh, and if you miss the way a mac runs, just dual-boot a Mac like Linux Distro, and you'll have more customization and less expenses when your mac does break.

At the moment my room mate has a mac, dont' know the model number, but her DVD drive is screwed, can't replace it herself. I had a problem with my MBR yesterday and fixed that with a disc...

I know which side of the line I fall on.

GHudston yes today PC and Mac are becoming the same but as you say that Mac can emulate PC i can say that my PC is real stable he never have problem, i don't need to reformat anything and all my works on it are safe. Mac is good to but what make the real difference is the price and tha fact that Aplle have a real stupid politic. If you buy Apple you can't change anything ,you buy a sealed box. Just think to iPhone, when battery lose the charge power you are screwed. There is no way to replace it. For the money i spend for Apple products i pretend to have a stuff that don't die in my hand and no possibility to repair. Most of Mac computers are integrated in the monitor, if your monitor expire...adios Mac. So if PC and Mac nowaday are becoming the same there is no more reason to spend a lot more for Apple when i can have the same at half price with a PC. I repeat Apple today is just fashion and trend for people that want waste money.

I'm Mac til I die, so shoot me. It's worth the extra cost, for sure... I'm not a gamer though, and I don't use it for much except dicking around on the internet, school and NetFlixin'.
But I def want to say that I've had my Mac for 2 years and it still works like the day I bought it. It's faster than the average PC and easier to understand.... I've never had a virus and pop-ups can't touch this.

The original Ford Mustangs, 1964 to 1968, are still the best looking American cars ever made.

May be correct, but Mac's don't break or get viruses like PCs so it's worth it in the long run.

This is fairly accurate, but you have to factor in that I've never had any of my Macs stop working. I switched from PC to Mac simply because I can't afford to have my work computer just arbitrarily refuse to boot up at random and need reformatting. Also, I'm a sucker for design and I find the UI more comfortable to use.

But, of course, this is a Mac vs PC discussion on the internet; I can't actually use real world logic here! ;)

@ultimakewl

I have a Mac Pro which, as I mentioned, I use for work.

Because I can't afford a separate gaming rig on top of my work machine; my Mac Pro has Windows installed on it via Boot Camp. It can run any game that I want it to. The whole "Macs can't play games" thing hasn't been true for a LONG time.
