Sunday, November 07, 2010 4:07:34 PM @madest Actually, I think being called a racist when you aren't racist hurts more. Especially when everything I do around a minority is "racist". |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 4:04:32 PM Wow, profound message from a profound man. He held our country together through the worst crisis it has ever faced. Apparently, he had a high pitched voice and spoke very quickly, so maybe a different voice actor would've been better. Lincoln really didn't want to go to war. He was going to give the slave states anything they wanted. He was even going to enforce laws concerning slaves even though he thought slavery was immoral, but after the rebels opened fire on an old american military base, he had no choice. OldOllie: 110,000 Union troops were KIA and they had many reasons to fight, but I don't think ending slavery was a predominant one. Some signed up because it was the cool thing to do, others signed up because they wanted to keep the Union together. The rebels fought because they wanted to keep their slaves, or some believed they did it to protect their heritage. If don't believe people would die so they can keep slaves, read the articles of succession written b |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 4:04:17 PM Yup, no idea what he's talking about here. Something about a civil war in which my country wasn't a part of. |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 3:40:29 PM Waaaaahhh... Poor OldOllie waaahh. If someone calls you racist and you aren't then you wouldn't be hurt by it. So often it is indeed the truth that hurts most. |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 2:57:27 PM 500,000 Americans died to free the slaves so 150 years later, they could call us all racists. |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 1:34:31 PM Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." fast forward some years... does todays US government actually hold these values? Of the people, By the people and For the people? Seems like Abe, would be really disgraced if he saw what was happening today. |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 12:46:31 PM "I don't see how one can listen to that and come to this conclusion. The Gettysburg Address was a challenge to the future of this country to continue to progress." I was implying that the poo that we moan about today is trivial compared to the poo that people fought for, and the poo that people had to endure 50, 70, 100, 120, 150, 200 and 300 years ago. I was stating that the perils of living in the modern word and all of our so called "problems" are luxuries that pale to the trials of virtually any of our ancestors. |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 12:38:22 PM It sounds like he has a slight scottish accent no? so.... fun fact- Lincoln was said to have a "high, nasal voice" but he's always portrayed with a deep, reassuring voice. Imagine it in a grown up Fred's voice. |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 12:32:47 PM The Civil War never happened. It's a conspiracy, just like the Holocaust and the Moon landing. |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 11:15:51 AM Progress? They fought over a states right to self rule. What is Arizona doing now with imigration? Fighting with the Feds over self protection. When we legalize pot in California...and you know we will ... we will have the same fight for self rule since the Feds have no business telling us what we can and cannot legalize. No, the tipics change, but people and governement remain the same. But it's the only game in town! |

Sunday, November 07, 2010 11:01:11 AM "I realize the perils of today are drab. " I don't see how one can listen to that and come to this conclusion. The Gettysburg Address was a challenge to the future of this country to continue to progress. |
