I still laugh at the difference between eastern and western PA. They feel like 2 completely different worlds and are only like 6 hours apart. |

Adequate yearly progress in 2007, the retention rate was acceptable, standardized testing was about par for the course, the sports teams did ok, the marching band did a reasonably good job at the parade... |

Adequate Yearly Progress is a term used by the state of Michigan for schools that are doing well.
It is a term that is filled with government language, but is actually quite impressive. |

As I've grown up, my ambitions and expectations of myself have gone from a gleaming pillar of society to just wanting to pass my classes and get my damn degree already so I can get a job, buy a gun and shoot myself in the head.
It's life. At least Constitution isn't all jaded about it yet. Way to go guys. |

Adequate is adequate. That's what it means. There's no point pretending that everyone and everything can be superb. Adequate progress is exactly what should be aimed for because if it's defined correctly then it's an achievable and sustainable improvement.
Besides, we don't know what the goals are, what degree of progress is deemed adequate and what situation the school was in before. We don't even know if this is a real school. |
