So what? Christianity teaches people to love their neighbor and not judge people. But you don't need to be a Christian to learn these things. And if you're a Christian who follows these rules because you're afraid of Hell, than you aren't really a good person. You're just trying to selfishly avoid punishment and seek out reward. |

Seriously, right? If I were going around telling people that I believed homosexuality was wrong because God told me so by placing messages in my alphabet soup, people would think I was batsh*t insane. Why does teaming up with other insane people suddenly make a person's point of view worthy of discussion?
Much of what's taught by religions can be ethically justified independent of scripture- and you don't need scripture to teach those things.
But a lot of what is believed by religious extremists is totally contrary to any kind of ethical argument. They get special protection for their sociopathic beliefs because they've teamed up with a bunch of other nutjobs who deem those beliefs "holy." That sh*t makes me drating rage. |

Ok. So he has the right to say whatever he wants...what does that matter? Everyone else has the right to react, so that argument has never really made sense to me. I mean if freedom of speech is a big deal to you then people talking about it should make you happy, right? But I guess if you actually think hate-spew like this is a valid opinion then you would probably not find it so atrocious. I've always felt that only thing not worth being open to is close-mindedness. |

Mr. McCance seems to be an idiot, but what's up with the reporter implying he committed the worst sin imaginable? The man expressed an opinion, which is his right. He did it away from his job, on his own. If you don't like it vote him out, but why do we need to lynch everyone with goofy opinions? |
