Wednesday, October 27, 2010 7:50:17 AM @ bibinos You don't steer it. It steers itself. Most UAVs have the ability for autonomous navigation or remote controlling- but they are capable of directing their own flight paths. This is a demonstration of an extremely manuverable UAV whose applications could be (in a military setting) interior, urban and extremely low altitude flight. Imagine running through the woods and this thing zipping right behind you- in between trees, through logs, over rivers; all the while having a camera focused on you. Imagine sending this guy in strapped with small explosives, smoke, or flash-bangs into an abandoned office building before sending SWAT in. Blah, Blah, Etc, Etc |

Tuesday, October 26, 2010 11:53:30 PM I couldn't help but notice that when it was flying through the three hoops, it didn't turn. It flew equally well forwards, backwards, and sideways. In fact, it appears not to have a front or back but is symmetrical about 2 axes Then how the hell you steer it? You need a point of reference i mean. Lets say you press forward on its control. How does that thing know where front is? so i do think theres a front and back. |

Now, just scale it up, mount some cameras and guns, and we can clean out a house full of Taliban in about 10 seconds. |

Monday, October 25, 2010 6:31:10 PM The police already use flying drones with cameras on them that look like that, nowhere near as good though. I remember them using them at stonehenge on the summer solstice, freaked me out, couldn't work out if it was real or something to do with what the hippies gave me. |
