He didn't challenge the overturning of DADT, he challenged the IMMEDIATE overturning of DADT. He just wants the military to have time to make the transition. Not that I agree with him, but you can't say he's against the end of DADT. |

I don't like Obama, but I have no problem with this vid.
Regarding DADT, this is a perfect example of how a community organizer thinks you solve a problem: you stand out front on the sidewalk with a bullhorn and DEMAND a solution.
He said he would close GITMO before he had any idea how he was going to do it or where he was going to put the detainees. No problem, he simply DEMANDED that it be closed. And now, 22 months later, he's waiting for someone else to get it done.
He also DEMANDED a stimulus package to keep unemployment under 8%, and a health care package that would provide better care to more people at a lower cost. How's THAT working?
It's the same with DADT. He promised his left-wing base he'd end it, and then he DEMANDED that others get it done. Now the courts are DEMANDING that HE get it done, and he still has no idea how to do it.
Obama's learning all this the hard way, and we're paying dearly for his education. |

Overturning DADT isn't going to work. Not bc there is a flaw in the idea of people being open about their sexuality in that environment but bc people are too narrow minded. I wonder if some people have this idea that once the military are open then the "gays" are gonna be sexin' it up in the showers or trying to molest their fellow soldiers. It won't work bc people won't allow it to work. That'd be like trying to force slave owners to bunk with slaves. I'm not saying that people for DADT are nearly as bad, just illustrating a point. It won't work bc people don't want it to. |

I'm not even going to watch this. It might be good, if his actions currently weren't going completely against the point of something like this.
Having the Head of State do something like this might sound like a good idea at first, but in all honesty having Obama do it, with what else he's doing right now, is pretty much just under-mining the entire cause of this crusade to help people. |

DrProfessor - stopping DADT overnight makes NO change whatsoever to logistics, housing, or job assignments. The ONLY differance is a gay soldier can talk about the date he had last night, just like his straight counterparts.
There is nothing to "prepare" for. The gays are already there.
What shake up will it cause? There isn't going to be an gay or straight housing.... no gay or straight uniforms ... no, absolutely no change except they can stop wasting time and money kicking qualified people out. |
