Your first sentence should say "essay content is", not "contents". Furthermore, the "while" at the start requires that the full stop after "credit level" be changed to a comma. The sentence makes no sense on its own. If you handed in this comment to me, it would be returned with red pen on it.

While the essay contents is sound and contains most of what would be expected from a Scottish Standard Grade pupil at credit level. When it's read critically the language used seems odd and doesn't flow well. If one of my pupils handed it in it would be returned with a lot of red pen on it!
