And the reason that listed products use waste materials from slaughterhouse cattle?

Let us assume that 60% of the cow is meat, (its actually much less) that leaves another 40% of the cow not suitable for human consumption that we have to do something with. Total U.S. beef production in 2007 was 26.4 billion pounds of beef. Using these numbers we are left with 10.56 BILLION POUNDS of waste, with a B. Companies either have to pay for waste products to be disposed of or find some willing to buy it. Industries that want to make money just don't let 10.56 billion pounds of goods go to waste.

Remove industrial meat farming from the picture and watch those products start using a slightly harder to obtain and therefore pricier ingredient or have to go through a more complicated process to be made.

"let the vegans live their lifestyle- its healthier"

LOLOLOLOL

It can be, if the following things are true:

i) You live in an area where a wide variety of plant food is available.

ii) You spend the time needed to learn what nutrients you need, what plants have them and in what quantities, and you learn from a proper source. There's some total BS online from some over-zealous vegan advocates.

iii) You pay careful attention to your diet, using (i) and (ii).

iv) You can afford to do so.

v) You supplement with adequate levels of B12. You WILL have to supplement or eat animal dung (and the right kind of animal dung, too). There are NO plant sources of B12 that humans can use. B12 deficiency will gradually ruin you. It's slow, nasty and in some cases irreversible.

Having said that, if you're equally careful with an omnivorous diet that would be a lot healthier too.

the vitamins that the vegans and vegetarians take..b12..all that fun, those have meat product in them. its less than 5%, which is the limit on mandatory labeling. if its 4.9999% they dont have to say its there..but it is, so they are tricked into eating meat..thus..no vege

B12 is a waste product of bacteria. You could, if you were being really picky, say that makes it an animal product and thus not vegan, but I doubt if even a vegan would go that far.

Vegans and vegetarians don't have to take any other vitamin supplements if they're careful enough with their diet. All other vitamins can be got from various plants. If you know which plants in what quantities and plan your diet accordingly, you can get enough of all of them on a vegan diet.

You can get vegan vitamin supplements, wholly sourced from plants only (including fillers).

Actually...if you don't milk cows they become infected with bacteria which is very uncomfortable for them.

i don't understand the milk and eggs thing. not milking cows actually hurts them, so why is it bad? and the unfertilized eggs are just going to be thrown away, and aren't vegans also against waste?

This is actually really cool to have this sort of thing simplified on a single image like this, but if you're claiming to be vegan you'll most likely read up on all of this stuff. With all of the ingredients in food and other products that most people have trouble even pronouncing you're going to want to figure out what those things actually are once you decide to become a full vegan. It's also good to research the brand of the specific product you want to use and you can even go as far as mailing the company if you can't find the information online.
Also, people become vegan for a variety of reasons ranging from health to moral views or environmental causes. For some people they may just want to adhere to a vegan diet, but they may not care to live a full vegan lifestyle.
To say "you're probably not" would only be speaking to the lazy people who don't bother to do their research and if you truly cared to be a vegan you would do so..

ok im vegetarian. i do eat milk, etc. Im not hardcore about it, but some people are . eg vegans wont eat bread if made with a little bit of milk in it.
some of this isnt true. the vitamins that vegetarians & vegans take do not have animal products in them, although regular vitamins do . ( daily vitamins, prenatal vitamins, etc).
most of this isnt food- you dont eat plasic, etc. a lot of vegans dont eat geletin, etc.
you cant get too picky about it, overanalizing is just douchey.let the vegans live their lifestyle- its healthier, and they arent hurting anyone.

I love how you could say to your friend in real life "Candy is made from cow skin." And he'd tell you to shove it, but, if you put it in the from of an info graph, people will believe it right right away.

Sure, I suppose that's *technically* possible, but you'd have to be the freaking jesus of veganism. Most vegans are thin, scrawny and hilarious.

People who train to maximise strength or muscular appearance are usually very careful about their diet anyway and know exactly what they need and what's in the stuff they eat and drink. So they've got the right habits for a vegan diet anyway.

There are bodybuilders who eat only raw plant material (with a little added B12). You can take it that far.

Vegans who are thin and scrawny are doing it wrong. I'd bet they're deficient in B12 and probably in some essential amino acids. You don't need much B12, but you need it for all sorts of things and not having enough will gradually mess you up in all sorts of ways.

You certainly aren't, because you're wrong. You can have a completely vegan diet and be massively strong. Biceps the size of thighs, that sort of thing. You need to be even more careful about your diet than people like that usually are, but it can be done.

While plants keep you thin, meat keeps you strong. (There are thousand other things a good balanced diet does, but I am no nutritionist)

You need to be even more careful about your diet than people like that usually are, but it can be done. As long as you take B12 made in a lab/factory (because you can't get that from plants), you can get everything you need from plants (if you live in a society wealthy enough to have a wide variety of plant food for sale).

Also cows make 'perfect' incubators for cloning "material". Don't assume that I'm referring to humans, or its reproductive capacity.
