I just think it's sad ppl have to fight for rights. they should be given as basic human rights. And anyone who says different needs either a labotomy, or be prosecuted the same as anyone else would be for denying a person their baic rights.

I don't think he's gay OR straight... I think he only loves himself.

Irrelevant point it does not have to be in the context of governmental. Every human being is not a zombie. They think and act differently based on many factors including culture and genes. Apparent by your assertion and umercyfuldu verbiage alone proves the point. There is always an opposite point of view. It has been throughout history, and will be in the future. It is the way humans are predisposed to think by nature. After all it would be a dull world if everyone thought and acted the same.

Ask a ultra conservative Christian right winger or a Muslim extremist. He will feel his right to a god fearing world is disrupted by your analogy. Your's is an opinion clouded by your bias at what you see to be your truth and clarity. However that does not mean that god fearing man who sees homosexuality as an abomination to god will see it your way. Once again another mans justice is another man's oppression. There will always be someone in opposition either by your assertion or theirs. Get a grip on reality.

I really think he ought to marry Jesse. He certainly has no business fathering any more children.

Well done, I respect him for being straight and still joining a cause that other people say he shouldn't support

@Helios

Also...

"I'm all for changing the policy so soldiers don't get dishonorable discharged."

That is not a neutral stance on the issue. Soldiers being discharged for DADT is the issue.

Sorry it got misinterpreted.

"Maybe it's a personal vendetta, maybe they believe gay people show more emotion than what they would call "normal" or "average" soldier for their standards, who knows, have you asked them? "

You weren't clear about who you are referring to as "them" ... they gays or the leaders.

You're twisting my words, I said maybe the higher-ups believe that, -not- me. I'm all for changing the policy so soldiers don't get dishonorable discharged. It was just repealed, and the now the government wants reinstate it... I'm just glad when this whole debate is over.

@Helios

So you are suggesting that the average soldier is different than the gay soldier? There is no emotional variance amongst straight soldiers? And you are right, at the end of the day you are a solider fighting for your country just like all the other soldiers... except if anyone finds out about you being gay you get dishonorably discharged. That is unless you aren't already deployed. Only AFTER you have served for a tour and put your life at risk do they then kick you out.

Alright, I rarely post on here, but here it goes... I am gay, and I'm actually rather neutral on the subjects of gay marriage, and the, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. I know I'm going to get grief for this but... If you're in the military the higher-ups they really don't care if you're gay or not. They just don't need to be told that. Yes, there are some that would rather not have a gay person in the military, but at the end of the day, whether you're gay or not you're fighting for your country just like everyone else. Soldiers are taught and often told that in battle that they're not to let their emotions or feelings cloud their judgment. Maybe it's a personal vendetta, maybe they believe gay people show more emotion than what they would call "normal" or "average" soldier for their standards, who knows, have you asked them?
