Wednesday, October 20, 2010 7:52:40 AM i dont like french politics or society as much as the next southerner, but as a southerner i can respect the spirit of fighting for whats right against the odds. i can respect the fact that they will not stand for a govenrment that balances its budget on the shoulders of the middle class while the politicians sit back in their louis vuitton arm chairs sipping Chateau Lafitte. much like we Americans allow politicians to vote on raises for themselves, while they raise taxes for us... |

Wednesday, October 20, 2010 2:15:19 AM @oceanbeast You are not from the south. No red-blooded Southerner would sympathise with the French, no matter how valid the argument. You sir, are a fraud. |

Tuesday, October 19, 2010 10:18:17 AM jayebee - What a rediculous abuse of power. Tasers were implemented to be a non lethal alternative to a gun. So basically this cop deemed that in this situation, he would have needed to shoot the guy. What a load of crap. ^this tasers are not to be used as a middle ground for when you cant catch a naked jogger and when you cant shoot one, they arent for 85+ year old senile grandmas, they arent for people who speak out against john kerry, will you peope wake the drat up and feel the grip of a totalitarian government around your throat before you watch your children turn blue and bloat, we are already raising a country of pansies at least wake u to see the bullpoo you are fed daily tasers are bullpoo, they are an intimidation tool for the masses. cops are NOT always right and they should NOT always be respected when most of them are crooked and looking to screw you over drat the police. im sorry to say but france has more balls than us. |

Tuesday, October 19, 2010 5:20:54 AM States' cops are so fat and slow, that they have to use tasers to beat the odds against a naked, skinny 18 year old. Good for you. |

Tuesday, October 19, 2010 12:55:12 AM @Luniz82 - Just ribbing you brother. We all appreciate your intellectual sacrifices for the sake of the Big Mac...just hold the spit next time. It's all about calculation of risk. An 18 year old who is jogging isn't going to die from a cardiac arrhythmia. At least not any more likely than being tackled on a sidewalk for resisting arrest. He would've gotten a night in jail and a slap on the wrist. |

Tuesday, October 19, 2010 12:07:15 AM @Norris. While I agree that the officer was "in the right" in this case, I wouldn't go as far as saying "as usual" |

Tuesday, October 19, 2010 12:03:42 AM I'd hate to be technical, but officer had relations with a naked swim-ready jogging teen. |

Monday, October 18, 2010 7:21:40 AM Regardless if the guy was breaking the law he was not putting anyone in danger of being injured the use of a TAZER was to much. But because you hear about them tazing people everyday people come to expect it from cops. It is excessive and an abuse of power. People die on a regular basis from being tazed it should never be a easy choice but it seems this slab of bacon had no seconds thoughts about it. @toider man you hurt my feeling say I work at mcdonalds. I dont see what the big deal is someone has to serve your fat ass your food. |

Monday, October 18, 2010 5:45:24 AM Hah, my opinion, better the tazer than the pepper spray. I've never been pepper sprayed, but I've been tear gassed, and that stuff makes any and all mucosa membranes burn, ALL OF THEM! |

Sunday, October 17, 2010 9:47:09 PM if he just pulled up and tazed the guy it would be one thing, but the cop followed protocol and it was either this or tackle him and i'm guessing it's better to get shocked than have a huge guy bring you down to the pavement. |

Sunday, October 17, 2010 9:18:54 PM On one hand, I agree that force should only be used in situations where there is no other option, but at the same time, if you are informed that a police officer is going to use a taser on you and you do not stop, then it's half your fault. Regardless of whether or not it was excessive, he was warned that it was going to happen. I mean, getting a high-voltage shock from touching a fence seems excessive for touching a fence, but if you see a sign that says "WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGE" and you touch it, that's your fault. |

Sunday, October 17, 2010 8:22:20 PM I don't think it was an abuse of power, because he asked the jogger to stop numerous times, warned him that if he didn't he would use his taser, and the naked dude still refused to stop. It's not like he just pulled it out right away and just slammed the guy. And honestly...he was tasered...he wouldn't be more injured than if he cop had tackled him, which I'm pretty sure no one would consider an abuse of power in this situation. |

Sunday, October 17, 2010 5:57:20 PM Luniz. Please tell me how this is an abuse of power? The streaker clearly was existing arrest and violating the law. Last time I checked you weren't allowed to run through a residential area completely naked. The kid was an idiot and the cop was doing his job. |

Sunday, October 17, 2010 5:48:02 PM "Man I hate cops we need to get these LOSERS out of a position of power and behind the counter and McDonalds where they belong." I'm surprised you would want to work with them in your chosen profession. I wouldn't wish McDonald's servitude upon even the worst of chumps. |
