Tuesday, October 05, 2010 4:49:32 PM Wait, it looks like a revamped version of the original... The first section of DNF is very heavily based on the end of the 3rd section of DN3D, the final section in the original release (the 4th one was added later). That was deliberate, for nostalgia and to bridge the huge gap in time. In the game, it's presented as not DNF per se but Duke at home playing DN3D. He finally found the time to play with himself. The other 15 sections of DNF aren't revamped versions of DN3D levels. |

Tuesday, October 05, 2010 4:40:54 PM How long is it taking to make this game? Did I read 12 years in one of the comments? More than that. Talk of a fourth Duke Nukem game started as soon as the third one (Duke Nukem 3D) came out in 1996. Duke Nukem Forever was confirmed in 1997 and 3DR proceeded to make an unbelievable bodge of its development. There was a trailer in 1998. Then another in 2001. Then nothing and more nothing. It wasn't until maybe 2008 that they realised they'd somehow managed to spend almost all of their money (3DR had a *lot* of money from DN3D, Max Payne, etc, etc) on failing to make DNF and tried to actually get it done, which they failed to do before completely running out of money. DNF might be released in 2011, 14 years after development officially started and 15 years after it was first talked about. |

Tuesday, October 05, 2010 4:31:28 PM This is BS, the game was canceled when 3D Realms went under. 3D Realms hasn't gone under completely, in that it still exists as a company and still owns IPs. Maybe they'll make a comeback. Maybe not. The game was never cancelled. Some of the DNF dev team, including Allen Blum, formed Triptych Games and continued developing DNF in their own time. Months later, Gearbox bought the Duke Nukem IP and hired Triptych to continue the work they'd been doing. People thought it had been cancelled because nobody said anything. Silence is 3DR's policy and has been for years. |

Tuesday, October 05, 2010 11:58:39 AM Old, outdated, a bad version of better games, whatever. The game is full of Ash's one-liners from Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, which makes it epic. |

Tuesday, October 05, 2010 6:04:00 AM How long is it taking to make this game? Did I read 12 years in one of the comments? And all they had to show is him draining one one eyed monster, then shooting at another one eye monster. Duke Nukem must be like the Dr Dre of computer games. |
