Monday, September 27, 2010 11:23:14 PM Are you sure it wasn't translated like that on purpose? By now I do believe they translate the language like that to screw with our minds and to give it a great shock value. |

Monday, September 27, 2010 3:45:49 PM @CodeJockey I live in Quebec. I talk to french people everyday. Crisse can be a vulgar word, the same way christ can be a vulgar word in english. People use christ as a swear in french the same exact way we use christ as a swear in english, but no one says christ when they mean to say f*ck. French canadians say f*ck when they mean to say that word. No one would tell you that the meaning of crisse is f*ck, only that it is LIKE the word f*ck in the sense it is a vulgarity. Seriously saying crisse and f*ck mean the same thing is like saying sh*t and f*ck have the same meaning. Sh*t means to defecate, f*ck refers to sexual intercourse and crisse means christ as in Jesus. All these words are used as profanities but none have the same meaning. |

Monday, September 27, 2010 3:17:08 PM Maybe it's used as an adjective, and all the vegetables in that section are zucchinis and cucumbers. |

Monday, September 27, 2010 3:14:53 PM Alright, earlier I mentioned something about having a video of a guy describing Asian markets. I found it. Skip forward in this video to around the 2:05 mark. up until the 4:30 mark. Al the little details of when this was recorded and all that are unimportant. What matters is, the way he describes them is funny, and pretty much goes along with posts like this that just make you wonder what the hell's going on in those places... |

Monday, September 27, 2010 3:05:18 PM Pui, I know what that means literally. In Canadian French, "crisse" has a different meaning than in European French depending on the context, like what I wrote earlier. Sort of like "screw" can be vulgar, also depending on context. Heck, "pie" even fits the comparison. Hmm... To an Asian, any word that means "elephant" can be vulgar. We say "dudes," a Hindi hears "breasts" or more closely, "tits." If you run into someone that speaks Yiddish, quietly ask them to translate what you speak as "Trust me."
