Collegebound, I'm glad someone pointed it out before me. What kind of college did you get accepted into that would allow someone who doesn't even know how to properly form a past tense phrase to enroll? I just want to know so that I can stay as far away from that college as possible. |

Eddie Long is nothing like Roy Cohn. Roy Cohn was a man who kept his homosexuality a secret during an era where coming out would have cost him his career, his friends, and most likely his family. If the accusations against Eddie Long are true, he's a man who has used his status as a preacher to force himself on other men. A rapist. There's no comparison. |

He's as guilty as the day is long. A straight man would have no reason to pose for a self pic, in spandex, before a mirror in his bathroom and then text that picture to another guy. A guy he was lavishing gifts on. This isn't bias, this isn't accusatory, these are facts. The spandex pictures came from the victims. GUILTY! Next? |

First of all, Madest, what he's being accused of IS against the law. He's not just being accused of being gay- he's being accused of sexual assault (which you oddly pointed out in your own post) Even so, the point is that just because someone accuses someone of something doesn't make it true. As much as I'd like to believe these accusations are true, as soon as you start basing what you believe on your own personal biases, you toss out reason and leave yourself open to believe anything that happens to sound legit, regardless of evidence. You have to consider the possibility that the accuser is lying- it happens all the time. Especially in a case like this when they have something to gain financially from it.
Guys get accused of date rape all the time- sometimes the accuser is lying. It happens. If this happened to you, would you want people going around declaring you guilty without a shred of evidence simply because they don't like you? |

Even though I don't care for megachurch pastors (especially Eddie Long and his "homosexuals can be cured" horsesh*t), he's innocent until proven guilty.

No he's not. He's not being charged with anything. Being gay isn't against the law. He is however being sued by men who claimed he sexually assaulted them when they were "teenagers". I suspect he'll pay them off to make the suit go away. He will continue to deny that he likes to diddle teenage boys and his flock will abandon him. He is guilty. |
