Lukgeezy: There were not a lot of confederate photographers and the few they had were very limited in the chemicals they could obtain because of the union blockade of the south, So confederate photos were rare to begin with. Not to mention cameras were expensive back then and most photographers would not risk them being damaged.

skaterboy17: These photos were digitized from the original glass plates, Not digitized from existing photos. As a result these are much clearer and more detailed then the original photos were, Because the paper and chemicals back then made the photos blurry.

duffy must be one of those that believes war can be won only if you throw flowers at the enemy trying to kill you.

tedgp: I know for a fact that there are Admirals and Captains aboard aircraft carriers, I've seen pictures of Generals inside tanks during the gulf wars, And I know of Generals flying military aircraft during the same conflicts.

In short, You don't know what the heck you're talking about.

Tedgp-

I run my unit how I run my unit. You want to investigate me, roll the dice and take your chances. I eat breakfast 300 yards from 4000 Cubans who are trained to kill me, so don't think for one second that you can come down here, flash your badge, and make me nervous.

Ahh the civil war. where colonels and generals actually fought on the battlefield alongside the soldiers. Not like today where they hide away hundreds/thousands of miles away, with no threat of attack.
