Saturday, September 25, 2010 4:44:52 PM A gay friend who had it really bad in HS & @ home got deepdeepdeep into drugs. Suicide can be quick or it can be a long, drawn-out process that ruins every positive aspect of your life before actually killing you. Terry & Dan have love & family--they could be working at fast-food burger joints & still be counted a success story. They're sending out a positive message, not ranting hate & quoting verses from books they've never read. Good job guys, PT like. |

Saturday, September 25, 2010 6:03:27 AM The video and the comments all just make me sad for reasons I don't see any reason to bother with right now, except that none of these people got to be treated as human, which is what they deserve. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 8:39:02 PM No Norsak they couldnt. You see they are super smart and I am the "stupidest person alive" and an "idiot" for good measure. See how clever those two are? Good thing sharp minded folk like them are around to figure things out for the rest of us dumb people. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 1:07:59 PM @ Wizard77 You have got to be the stupidest person alive. How many times do people have to tell you it's not a choice before you figure it out? Why don't you wake up one day and choose to go suck a d1ck. Freaking idiot. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 9:55:38 AM Well right there is a good reason NOT to decide to be gay. I sure am glad I chose to be straight. I mean high school was hard enough. These foolish people must be gluttons for punishment. I mean they were sticking to their homo guns when all they had to do was suddenly decide to be all, you know, not gay and stuff. That is dedication. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 8:20:51 AM "Sadly, for many, it's not an exaggeration." Very sadly, it's not. I just hoped you were, I guess. I thought about it in high school. Who doesn't, right? What stopped me was my parents. I thought then, and still think now, no parent should ever have to bury their child. I couldn't do that to my parents. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 6:41:54 AM "'we all ripped on the kids who took it like champs' The kids genuinely weren't bothered by it, or they were emotionally tortured but were able to hide it well (right up until they kill themselves)... ...how do YOU know which is the case?" While you may be going to an extreme with the killing themselves (at least I hope you are!), your point is right on. Sometimes the kids who appear to take it like champs are the same ones who long for acceptance and go home hurt, alone, and miserable. They just don't want to give the people who torture them the pleasure of knowing it hurt. I was on the border line between the two in school. I could take what the mean kids dished out without letting them know it hurt, and generally it rolled off my back. The whole school knew me by a name that a bully made up to make fun of me. I let it go, and it just became my nickname. I hated it, but I took it like a champ. If I didn't have a close group of two or three fr |

It sounds to me like you're just trying to excuse being horrible to other human beings. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 5:30:27 AM Hm, I will admit I was pretty sheltered at school, we never had a problem with bullying, we all ripped on the kids who took it like champs, and anyone with serious problems we let them deal without making it worse. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 5:19:29 AM @IamBored29 "Cant believe the comment section is as civil as it is on this topic. Probably because of the glaring absence of 1 particular user." I'm sure he'll be along sooner or later. My own personal experience (gay, bullied as a kid) is that yes, it does get better. If you can survive. But as we see, sadly, not everyone does. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 3:31:47 AM I found this boring. I always find the kids that got bullied where the ones who were fun to bully, the ones that cried, the ones that were clearly insecure, and the ones that would try to fight back. I don't think anyone who was gay in our school ever got bullied. |

Thursday, September 23, 2010 4:46:55 PM Why would their son be gay? If anything he would simply be open to it (as we should all be, each to their own, eh?). The point of the matter is; have a good life. Simple as that. Bigotry will only keep you down. |

Thursday, September 23, 2010 3:08:25 PM Does it matter if his son is gay? He's almost thirteen. Gay or straight, I'm sure he has a healthy relationship with Rosie Palm and her five lovely sisters. And yes, life sometimes continues to suck after high school, but it tends to suck in new and exciting ways. For some, they may be more bearable ways. |

Thursday, September 23, 2010 2:45:37 PM Loved it, and it sooooooooo needs to be said. Who ever came up with this campaign is BRILLIANT. How many high school kids who commit suicide (or tries to) do we have to read about every month or so? And, as has been pointed out, it is not just the gay. Junior High / High Schools are nothing but shark tanks and ANYBODY who is different is the main course. Also, thanks for the link, Rick S. The first two anyway made my day. But being retired and all, I'm an easy mark. |
