Friday, September 24, 2010 5:55:14 AM sucks to live in US. You're practically guaranteed to have your ID stolen, and odds are not against violent crime. |

Friday, September 24, 2010 5:51:41 AM @PsychGeek - I'd say based on a combination of census data and trends over (50 years? 100? 5?) A lot of countries have thousands if not millions of people born without birth certificates (i think) so maybe not very accurate, but a good general idea. |

Thursday, September 23, 2010 10:17:46 AM not sure how accurate this is...is it based on census data, maybe? trends over a certain number of years? |

Thursday, September 23, 2010 7:38:11 AM 'Cause I need to know how many people are dying around me at any given time, and how polluted we are making the Earth every second. I'm tired of all this negativity, all this "You're guilty because you are now aware" bullpoo. |

Thursday, September 23, 2010 7:09:23 AM Wow, they skipped "pigs" for the food consumption chart. Hard to take it seriously when they miss one of the greatest foods in the world - BACON! |

Thursday, September 23, 2010 2:46:43 AM "This is obviously fake. It's impossible to track the earth like that." It's called a AVERAGE, based on the sources they say that 414 people die by fire every day, so on AVERAGE a person dies that way every, like, 3.5mins i believe. and of course the data is from what has already happened, nobody can say for sure whats going to happen in the future. |

Thursday, September 23, 2010 2:33:10 AM "This is obviously fake. It's impossible to track the earth like that." It's not meant to be real!!! - just a representation of what is happening on average. Basically the number of births for example have been recorded every year and this is used to make predictions on how many will be born this year and in subsequent years... Basically if the number of births in: 2001 = 1000 2002 = 2000 2003 = 3000 ... 2009 = 9000 Then you could PREDICT that 2010 = 10000 Then it'sa simple case of dividing 10000/365 = roughly 24/ day So the counter will go up by one every hour Obviously this is over-simplified... This isn't taking into account the calculus involved. I.e. the population growth is determined by the population to begin with. Lets call is 10%. So initially you start with 1000 people, it then goes up to 1100 (1000+10%), the next figure is calculated by 1100+10% = 1210. Basic principles |

Wednesday, September 22, 2010 10:11:30 PM 5cats, you forgot to take into account all the other uses for oil. What about plastics and some cosmetics? Don't forget propane. Oh, what the heck, I'll just link to the first page that popped on Google. Cut up into pieces so it fits into the forum, naturally. Oil Uses |
