So tell me, can you provide any study or research that shows that condom use correlates to the promiscuity of a person?
Condom use is just common sense, being promiscuous has nothing to do with it.
Plus, you're still not acknowledging that religious upbringing does in fact have an effect on everyday judgement for people.

people who would not wear a condom are more than likely already promiscuous as it is, they are not the type of people that would listen to the pope and tremble in fear so they go catch aids rather than being abstinent?
Jesus came to change many practices in the judeo-christian faith, he never said anything about gays at all, rather he said we should love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
surely there are some changes that need to be made, and rest assured the Catholic community is fully aware and trying to change certain aspects of the way the church is administered, but these are internal matters, no matter how many people are angry outside of the church only change coming from within the church matters if at all needed. |

that is one of the most ignorant comments on here... are you seriously suggesting that catholics the world over divorce their religious attitudes and teachings from their dealings outside the church?
whether u admit it or not, the influence of any church on its followers affects how they behave in the wider world, and for THAT reason, secular entities care about your attitudes. the catholic church's followers include world leaders. are you seriously stupid enough to believe that they don't acknowledge their "faith" when making decisions, even if its on an unconscious level.

Nobody's saying the catholic church beats women, kills homosexuals, and abuses women. We're saying that if the pope would quit being such an non-nice individual and tell his followers that it's OK to wear a condom so that AIDS can be prevented in these third world countries that listen to him, we would probably have a couple more thousand or so people alive/not infected. Or if he would at least say that gay people should be loved and respected as our neighbors even if they believe they're going to hell, maybe less of his followers would be so compelled to kill/alienate them. I'm not saying people are forced to believe these things, I'm just saying that the pope is a creepy-looking retard, that's all. |

i dont understand why secular organisations care about what happens within the catholic church, on issues such as the ordination of women, our stance on contraception, or our stance on abortion. the Catholic church has its rules in place and they affect only those who are willingly a part of the chucrch, no one is forced to do anything they dont want to and can leave as they please, we dont kill homosexuals, we dont beat women, and we certainly do not condone the abuse of children. |

He's also a total pimp- I remember him showing up to the academy awards with a date young enough to be his grandson the year that The Fellowship of the Ring came out (I know what your thinking, pervs, but he was in his 20's). |
